Hilaria Baldwin sparked debate online after revealing she had ventured out with several of her children to get haircuts as a powerful winter storm closed in on New York City.
The 42-year-old former yoga instructor, who is married to actor Alec Baldwin, shared a carousel of photos and videos on Instagram showing her children inside a Manhattan salon, writing that the family had 'braved the snow storm to get fresh cuts.'
In the images, Baldwin's children are seen bundled up in winter gear inside the salon.
The first video showed her eldest Carmen, 12, seated in a stylist's chair with long, freshly brushed hair cascading over her shoulders.
Another photo showed one of her younger brothers standing behind one of their sisters, with his arms wrapped protectively around her as they look down at a phone together.
Additional images showed Ilaria, two, and María, four, sticking close together in thick snowsuits, their cheeks flushed pink from the cold, while a stylist trimmed their brothers' hair.

Baldwin joked in the caption that 'the baby insisted that she needed a haircut too because her hair is 'sooooo long… longer than Marilu's,' adding laughing emojis and the hashtags #thebaldiwins and #haircut.
Hilaria and Alec shares three daughters, Carmen Gabriela, María Lucía Victoria, and Ilaria Catalina Irena, as well as four sons Rafael Thomas, nine, Leonardo Ángel Charles, eight, Romeo Alejandro David, six, and Eduardo 'Edu' Pao Lucas, four.
Prior to meeting Hilaria, Alec welcomed his daughter Ireland Baldwin, 30, with Kim Basinger.
The Daily Mail has reached out to Hilaria's representatives for comment, but has not heard back, at this time.
The post was shared as New York City prepared for Winter Storm Fern, which meteorologists warned could bring dangerous travel conditions and significant snowfall to the region.
According to CBS News, parts of the city were forecast to receive up to 18 inches of snow, while the National Weather Service predicted Manhattan had a 94 percent chance of at least six inches and nearly a 50 percent chance of up to a foot of snow.
LaGuardia Airport was projected to have more than a 90 percent chance of receiving heavy accumulation.
New York Governor Kathy Hochul declared a state of emergency for the entire state on Friday, urging residents to avoid unnecessary travel as forecasters warned the storm could knock out power, down trees and make roads nearly impassable.
As Winter Storm Fern moved eastward, nearly 3,700 flights were canceled nationwide by Saturday, with more than 6,000 additional cancellations expected Sunday.

Against that backdrop, Baldwin's post drew mixed reactions.
Some followers flooded the comments with praise, calling her an 'incredible mother' and applauding the apparent bond between her children.
'These children are so amazing to each other. You've done a great job!!' one supporter wrote, while another added, 'The girls are so kind to each other. Carmen is beautiful and kind - well done mama.'
Others, however, were sharply critical, questioning the necessity of venturing out during a potentially dangerous storm and accusing Baldwin of oversharing.
Several commenters suggested the salon visit was unnecessary, with critics arguing that children's haircuts could have waited until conditions improved.

Others objected to the frequent posting of her children on social media, with some urging her to give them more privacy.
The Baldwins are believed to be sheltering primarily at their sprawling 4,137-square-foot penthouse in Manhattan's Greenwich Village, though the family also splits time at a 10,000-square-foot farmhouse in Amagansett, Long Island.
As millions of Americans across more than 20 states were urged to stay home and prepare for extreme weather, the storm continued to advance toward the Northeast, bringing with it frigid temperatures and hazardous conditions.
The storm marks the biggest one to hit New York City in five years.
Public school buildings have been closed on Monday and classes were moved to be remote.
