With Netflix's Defenders Saga being incorporated into the MCU, one timeline reveal makes Kingpin's upcoming role in Daredevil: Born Again even more intimidating than ever before. Daredevil: Born Again will premiere March 4, 2025, making it the first live-action Daredevil series to be produced by Marvel Studios. Daredevil: Born Again features a familiar cast of characters, with Matt Murdock, Kingpin, Punisher and others returning after three seasons on Netflix.
Prior to his return in Daredevil: Born Again, Kingpin made his grand appearance in the MCU timeline via a small role in Hawkeye before becoming a significant part of Echo. In the Echo series, a flashback scene shows Maya fighting Daredevil, which takes place during the five-year time period between Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. This means Daredevil was never snapped, meaning Kingpin's reclamation of power makes him even more dangerous.
Daredevil Not Being Snapped Makes MCU's Kingpin Even More Intimidating
Though it is unclear just how many storylines from Netflix's Daredevil series will actually be built upon in Daredevil: Born Again, Kingpin's rise to power once again, despite everything against him, makes him all the more terrifying. Daredevil season 3 ends with Matthew Murdock finally taking down Wilson Fisk after three seasons of him being almost an unstoppable force. With Kingpin's return in Hawkeye, Echo, and Daredevil: Born Again, it was reasonable to assume Daredevil being snapped out of existence allowed Kingpin to rise in power once more.

I Don’t Think MCU’s Daredevil Series Can Ever Be More Brutal Than This One Original Show Moment
The MCU’s Daredevil: Born Again revives Netflix’s Daredevil, but reviving the violence may prove difficult for the typically child-friendly MCU.
That wasn't the case, though, as Daredevil survived the snap, which raises questions about how Kingpin was able to consolidate power again. The fact that he was able to with Matt Murdock still operating in Hell's Kitchen makes him feel even more dangerous going into Daredevil: Born Again. Hopefully, the series will answer some questions about how his ascension was possible.
How Daredevil Not Being Snapped Makes Kingpin's Born Again Story Even More Interesting
One thing to note is that because Daredevil didn't get snapped, Kingpin's story in the MCU becomes even more interesting. It would have been easy to say that Wilson Fisk was able to become the Kingpin of New York City once again because Daredevil was missing for five years, but adding that extra obstacle of him still being around makes the way Kingpin bounced back a fantastic story that could be explored during Daredevil: Born Again.
The most interesting storylines in the MCU after the Infinity Saga are ones that dealt with the ramifications of the events that had already happened.
It will also allow Daredevil: Born Again to explore what happened during that five years, if it chooses to. Some of the most interesting storylines in the MCU after the Infinity Saga are ones that dealt with the ramifications of the events that had already happened, most notably Thanos' snap. Netflix's Daredevil series always kept the characters front and center. If Daredevil: Born Again focuses on that same type of character work, Kingpin's MCU story could be fascinating to see play out.
Before Netflix's Defenders Saga was even folded into the MCU canon, Kingpin was one of the best live-action Marvel villains of all time. With him appearing in multiple projects since that inclusion, the groundwork is in place for him to be the most formidable returning villain the universe has ever had. Adding the fact that he was able to regain power following Daredevil season 3 despite Matt Murdock not being snapped makes his upcoming role in Daredevil: Born Again even more dangerous.
Your changes have been saved
After Charlie Cox's cameo appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Home and supporting role in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, Daredevil: Born Again gives Matt Murdock his first show set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Daredevil: Born Again, composed of 18 episodes, serves as the spiritual successor to Netflix's three-season Daredevil series and adapts its characters to the MCU's main continuity while establishing a new beginning for the superhero lawyer.
