Nintendo has been delivering classics on its hardware for decades. Even the systems that aren't as successful as, say, the Wii or the Switch still have incredible libraries, including the Virtual Boy lineup and, of course, the GameCube.

While the console is a bit of an odd duck, the GameCube gave us a ton of wild experimental exclusives, including projects like Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem, and out-there remakes like Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes. While it's not as well-remembered as some of their hit consoles, the GameCube will forever be remembered in a similar breath as the Dreamcast, offering audiences something different at the time.

Now, it seems like the former GameCube exclusive will hit more platforms, according to a report from Comicbook. As one of the more interesting exclusives on the GameCube, it should be a great time, and it checks a lot of boxes for fans of the system.

Based on the report, which cites Resident Evil leaker Stiviwonder, it seems like Resident Evil 0 is allegedly being remade over at Capcom. As part of Capcom's partnership with Nintendo in the late '90s, this is one of several GameCube exclusives, following up on the Resident Evil remake.

It was an exciting time for Resident Evil fans, and although Resident Evil 0 hasn't been as well-received as some of the more successful games in the franchise, it offers an unseen look at the broader Resident Evil universe, combined with interesting dual-hero gameplay.

Six years later, it was ported to the Wii and widely released on pretty much every platform in 2016. But initially, it started as a GameCube exclusive, which is wild to think about in 2026. I remember playing it and being generally wowed by the ability to play as two people in the same playthrough, even if the system and level designs had some issues.

There are myriad confirmations that some of these games are in development, including from reputable sources that have previously leaked accurate information about the Resident Evil series. While the leak doesn't provide many details beyond its existence, it makes sense that Capcom would remake prior games in the series, including Resident Evil 2, 3, and 4.

There are multiple leaks swirling right now about remakes of other games, including the original Resident Evil (which wouldn't be the first time it's been remade) and Code Veronica. It's a great time to be into Resident Evil.

Capcom is riding high right now with the stellar success of Resident Evil Requiem, on top of the launch of Pragmata. They've come a long way since the GameCube era.
