When Michael’s K-1 visa was denied the first time, he didn’t want to wait for six more months to apply again. He said he felt lonely in Nigeria and wanted to be with Angela in the U.S. ASAP. He pushed Angela into getting married as it was the “best option.” Michael eventually convinced Angela to get married in Nigeria. The pair married in January 2020 but had to wait for over a year to reunite due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Angela worried that Michael would dump her for a younger woman in the U.S. and underwent risky weight-loss surgery.

Angela complained about Michael not giving her attention even during her recovery. She flirted with her surgeon and, next, landed in Nigeria without telling Michael when she figured Michael was having an online fling with a woman from Instagram. Angela decided to give Michael another chance. Instead of divorcing him, Angela and Michael waited for his spousal visa, which Michael now secured through an interview from the Ivory Coast. Michael arrived in the U.S. in December 2023. Angela took him to live in Georgia with her two daughters, Skyla and Scottie, and their six children.

She later received a phone call from the police, who told her Michael had run away from her because he feared for his life. Michael later revealed that Angela treated him harshly at home. Michael found out Angela used a private investigator to snoop on him while at the Tell All. Michael didn’t feel loved and accepted by Angela. Once they returned to Georgia after filming the Tell All in New York, Michael spent four days with Angela and ran away.

In June 2024, Angela filed for an annulment from Michael. According to InTouch, Angela claimed that she wanted the marriage to be annulled since Michael had “fraudulently induced” her into the marriage with the purpose of gaining legal permanent resident status in the U.S. As per Angela, Michael was also engaged in a conspiracy with other Nigerian men to induce U.S. citizens into marriage for the purpose of gaining legal permanent resident status. Angela had announced at the Tell All itself that she wanted “her visa” back. Angela wanted Michael to be deported and for his visa to be canceled.

Michael has since hired a PR agency and even a manager. Michael is looking for work in the U.S. and for now, he’s settled on being an influencer. Michael has done collaboration posts with Fashion Nova and a restaurant. His recent videos give fans a glimpse of Michael’s house, which is much cleaner and less messy than Angela’s messy and unorganized place. Michael and Angela keep posting passive-aggressive messages to each other through their Stories and captions. On the other hand, Angela has started to claim she’s been chosen as a messiah to help people like her with untrustworthy spouses.
