Jake Paul proved victorious against Mike Tyson on Friday night in Netflix and Most Valuable Promotions‘ (MVP) heavyweight boxing mega-event, streaming live globally on the platform.

The ‘Problem Child’ maintained a consistent lead against ‘Iron Mike’ at the Dallas Cowboys’ AT&T Stadium, landing 78 hits against Tyson’s 18 during the eight two-minute rounds. Paul threw 278 (28%) punches against Tyson’s 97 (18%).

Friday’s match between Tyson and Paul, which was prefaced by Katie Taylor Vs. Amanda Serrano 2, was the biggest boxing gate outside of Las Vegas in US history, surpassing $17.8 million. More than 70,000 were in attendance at the match.

“Breaking records like this is exactly what MVP was built to do—bring the biggest, most electrifying events to fans worldwide,” said MVP co-founder Nakisa Bidarian. “Jake Paul, Amanda Serrano and MVP are redefining what’s possible in combat sports, and we’re thrilled to partner with Netflix to make history at AT&T Stadium. This is just the beginning for MVP as we continue to raise the bar in delivering unforgettable moments in the ring. Congratulations to Jake Paul, Mike Tyson, Katie Taylor, Amanda Serrano and the rest of this amazing card. Every athlete deserves recognition for this historic night. We are also proud to have over 2,000 servicemen and women at Paul vs. Tyson tonight and are honored to give back to our service members by ensuring their presence at this historic event.”

Netflix announced the fight in March. Originally scheduled for July 20, the event was postponed when Tyson suffered an ulcer flare-up in May. As the pair trained, Netflix aired the three-part docuseries Countdown: Paul Vs. Tyson this month.

At 58, Tyson has 50 wins and six losses, with 44 wins by knockout. Reigning as the undisputed heavyweight world champion from 1987 to 1990, Friday marked Tyson’s first professional fight since his 2020 match against Roy Jones Jr., which was declared a draw.

Following his early years as a YouTube and Vine content creator, who also appeared on the Disney Channel, 27-year-old Paul made his boxing debut in 2018. With 10 wins and one loss, including seven wins by knockout, Paul has broken gate records at every arena in his career.
