After the highly controversial death of Captain Bobby Nash in 9-1-1 season 8, Peter Krause has found a new network show.
As one of the procedural's original main characters, fans had been following Bobby since 9-1-1 debuted in 2018, and the general reaction was one of shock and devastation after his sacrifice. 9-1-1 season 9 has had to navigate the story for the first time without Bobby, leading to a mixed reception.
Now, Krause has set his first network show since 9-1-1 by joining the ensemble cast of NBC's Protection, a drama pilot created, written, and executive produced by Quantico and Gossip Girl's Josh Safran. This marks Krause's return to NBC after previously starring in Parenthood, where he played Adam Braverman for all six seasons that aired from 2010-2015.
The former Parenthood and 9-1-1 star will play the series regular of Mike Thornhill. His family, made up of law enforcement agents, are targeted by a mysterious assassin after the death of a U.S. Marshal, and must use their skills to survive and apprehend the killer, all while being pushed to their limits. Since it is only at the pilot stage, the series has not yet received a full order.
