Contributing to the growing chorus of manga and anime finales that's been getting particularly loud after 2024 and 2025, many massive, beloved, and niche hits continue to bow out across multiple manga publishers. This comes in addition to the latest anime closures of 2026, with multiple high-profile manga, some more expected than others, completing their run this year as well.
As Weekly Shonen Jump and other major magazines prepare for a new wave with their old guard continuing to fade, it's remained an exciting time in the sphere. Multiple new-gen manga hits have emerged in 2026, while iconic classics of the 2000s like Blue Exorcist have announced their final arc, yet won't likely end in the next year. But it's crucial to take stock of what's concluded in 2026, as well as manga in their final arcs projected to end before the new year, such as the following 14 listed below.
Firefly Wedding
- Release year: 2023

Although Firefly Wedding recently announced its anime adaptation, which often boosts volume sales, the manga is already wrapping up its story. Although it's available for pre-release, the final chapter of Firefly Wedding is available on MangaOne as of February 2, 2026.
Additionally, Firefly Wedding announced two short spin-off manga series: "Love and Poison," scheduled to release alongside the manga's ending and divided into two parts, and "Firefly Wedding Gaiden—The Assassin and a Young Child," slated for April 6. This second spin-off will consist of five chapters that will be released monthly until August.

30 Must-Watch Anime Series For Adult Fans
Sometimes, adult anime fans can exhausted with high school romances and teenage leads. Thankfully, there are plenty of shows for older fans.
Before entering its final arc, the author took a break due to health issues, and in December 2025, Kindergarten Wars switched to a biweekly release schedule. However, while the manga is currently in the final battle of Kindergarten Noir against the New World Order and therefore still has some way to go, its last stretch shouldn't extend beyond 2026.
A Couple Of Cuckoos
- Release year: 2020
- Available: K Manga
- Chapters: 299+
A popular harem rom-com running in Weekly Shonen Magazine, A Couple of Cuckoos focuses on Nagi Umino, a diligent high school student who was switched at birth with Erika Amano. Upon meeting his birth parents, the pair are soon pushed together in an attempted arranged marriage in order to keep the families connected.
While Nagi and Erika navigate their own feelings on the matter, Nagi's romantic life grows progressively more complicated, even messy, especially considering even his sister, Sachi Umino, reassesses her feelings given the truth of their family relations. Add to the mix his school crush Hiro Segawa, and childhood friend Ai Mochizuki, and it's romantic pandemonium.
A Couple of Cuckoos recently entered its final arc on January 28, 2026. Given its weekly structure and plenty left to still resolve, it's reasonable to see this as stretching as far as late 2026 or early 2027 for its final chapters, giving the series enough space to close final plot threads and sort out who ends up with whom.
Witch Watch
- Release year: 2021
- Available: Manga Plus
- Chapters: 251+
Witch Watch is a manga that showcases just how fun and unpredictable magic can be, especially with a young witch learning to control it. From the adorable relationship between Nico and Morihito to their everyday moments, its cast of quirky supernatural beings, and its absurd gags mocking anime tropes, Witch Watch became the quintessential light read in Shōnen Jump.
While Witch Watch Season 2 is currently in production, the manga entered "Part 3" of its story on November 24, 2025. Although its second part spanned almost two years, the romantic development that fans had been eagerly anticipating has already occurred, and the final battle against the Warlocks began in chapter #231, making it highly likely that Witch Watch will conclude this year.
Seraph of the End
- Release year: 2012
- Available: Manga Plus
- Chapters: 156+
Written by Takaya Kagami and illustrated by Yamato Yamamoto, Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign stands among the longer-running monthly series of Shueisha's Jump SQ. lineup. The series may have a polarizing reception to its pacing and tropes, and especially the abrupt ending of its anime. Even a decade's worth of content later, the dark fantasy series still has a dedicated following, with over 16 million copies circulating worldwide.
With the story originally focusing on Yuichiro Hyakuya bringing the fight to the vampires engulfing the world in an Attack on Titan meets proto-Demon Slayer storyline, the plot has widened significantly to incorporate its expansive worldbuilding with a drastic choice ahead. The series is currently planned to end on volume #37, promised by the creator to be a substantial final installment, with the readers being the final judge on whether this story's legacy is ultimately a good one.
Sakamoto Days
- Release year: 2020
- Available: Manga Plus
- Chapters: 263+
Sakamoto Days, a hit manga about a former assassin-turned-family man, has been one of Shōnen Jump's biggest titles of the past decade, reaching new heights with its record-breaking anime adaptation on Netflix in 2025. With a live-action adaptation scheduled for April 2026 and a second season in development, Sakamoto Days announced its final manga arc on August 4, 2025.
While it's common for battle shōnen anime to have their final arcs stretch over years and hundreds of chapters, Sakamoto Days could follow the current trend of major titles ending before hitting 300 chapters, just like Jujutsu Kaisen. This makes it possible that Sakamoto Days will conclude by late 2026.
Blue Box
- Release year: 2021
- Available: Manga Plus
- Chapters: 246+
Although it hasn't officially confirmed its final arc, Blue Box's author revealed that the manga is nearing its conclusion in his message during Jump Festa 2026. The news wasn't a big surprise to many readers considering that Taiki is currently in his last tournament in his third year of high school and Chinatsu has already started her college life.
As Taiki clinches his latest victory and continuous emotional montages showcased each character reflecting on how the young sports power couple has consistently brought light to their lives, it's clear the manga's conclusion is coming soon. The series is far too saccharine to break fans' hearts with a sad ending, but it's unclear just what the ending will look like, and whether audiences will see a timeskip of its stars living happy lives especially as its core romantic arcs, barring any developments for Hina Chono, are tied up.
Blue Box was the current exponent of the sports genre in the Shōnen Jump lineup, barring recent addition Hal Formula, but it's its thoughtful and endearing slow-burn romance that makes the manga so beloved by readers. Blue Box Season 2 is scheduled to release in Fall 2026, and it's possible that fans will say goodbye to the manga for good around that date.
The Summer Hikaru Died
- Release year: 2021
- Available: Yen Press
- Chapters: 43+
The psychological seinen The Summer Hikaru Died was, for many fans, the best anime of 2025 due to its existential horror and haunting rural setting. While The Summer Hikaru Died revolves around the bond between a high school student and his friend, whose body has been possessed by a mysterious entity, it's a coming-of-age story about identity and societal expectations.
Although its ending hasn't been officially announced, recent events in the manga, such as the conflict surrounding the holes in the Kibogayama region and the Company, make it feel as though The Summer Hikaru Died is closing its story.
Furthermore, The Summer Hikaru Died's author revealed that the story was planned for 10 volumes, with 8 being published by December 2025. With approximately 2 volume releases per year, this suggests a possible ending for the manga in late 2026.
Jujutsu Kaisen: Modulo
- Release year: 2025
- Available: Manga Plus
- Chapters: 25 (Complete)
The sequel to Jujutsu Kaisen has been a masterclass in living up to its manga's legacy. Although its ending seemed premature, Jujutsu Kaisen: Modulo was planned from the beginning as a short series of about three volumes.
Exploring concepts such as humanity, coexistence, and mortality beyond the battles between sorcerers, Jujutsu Kaisen: Modulo ended on March 8, 2026. However, due to its popularity, the series could connect with another spin-off set in Jujutsu Kaisen's universe.
