Caves are among the most common biomes you can find in a Minecraft world seed, with the best ones containing valuable resources or rare structures. The dark caverns of a world are full of dangerous mobs, but brave spelunkers who explore caves can find everything they need. Whether it's to build an underground base or discover a way into The End, the possibilities of a good cave seed are endless.
There are multiple types of Cave biomes, from large Dripstone Caves to beautiful Lush Caves that are as bright as the surface. Some important resources for survival in Minecraft can only be found in Caves, making each kind worth exploring. Depending on what seed you use, some caves can produce unique items that are much harder to find from other worlds you generate.

This seed spawns you in the middle of a Mooshroom Island, a rare biome that isn't present on most worlds. This landscape is surrounded by a ton of other diverse biomes to explore, but there is a large hole leading into a massive cave system on the center of the Island. This cave almost invites you to dive right into it, offering a variety of resources from the very start of your journey.
The mushrooms you can collect on the Island biome in Minecraft can help you craft plenty of food for exploring this seed's Large Cave. While there aren't any significant structures you can reach early through this cave, the underground can be transformed into tunnels to help you reach the mainland. This cave is one of the easiest to access due to how light from the surface shines through, making mobs appear less.

By their nature, Caves are dangerous biomes to be in for too long, but this seed offers that challenge right away. This seed spawns you in a cave surrounded by lava pooling from all sides into a lake of fire you have to navigate carefully. Starting your adventure from the core of the earth, your mission could be to escape to the surface visible far above you, beyond the many layers of this deep cavern.
One of the easiest ways to make lava easy to traverse through is to lead a source of water to any lava. When water and lava meet, they create either Obsidian or Cobblestone blocks that are safe to step on.
The further you climb, the less dangers you encounter in this seed as the cave transitions from a fiery cesspool to a gorgeous Lush Cave biome. The winter-themed biomes on the surface may signify you leaving this cave forever, but it's worth exploring this area's multiple layers for hidden structures as well.

This seed spawns you directly in a massive Dripstone Cave biome just begging to be explored. While the initial dangers of hostile mobs are high here, you enter this world close to a treasure chest with basic supplies, including some armor and a strong weapon. These tools will help you survive and focus on the main attraction in this world - a huge Ruined Nether Portal structure.
Anyone trying to reach The End fast in Minecraft will need Blaze Rods from the Nether, so your mission in this seed could be completing the Nether Portal. The enormous size of this seed's cave has plenty of resources, giving you the tools you need to accomplish this goal. This seed makes it easy to travel into the Nether, where you can trade with Piglins for more supplies or explore the haunting Warped Forest on the other side of the Portal.

Village seeds in Minecraft are a great way to prepare for Cave biome exploration, with this seed placing a settlement right next to the underground areas you'll want to dive into. This world spawns you in a Desert Village full of NPCs willing to trade items and resources for basic supplies. The convenient Village above a Ravine in this seed allows you to get prepared to start investigating the caves you want to visit.
This seed also has a Ruined Nether Portal you can use to travel to another realm. However, another great way to collect some gear before exploring this seed's cave is by raiding the local Jungle Temple, which has unique treasures for you to grab.
Under the Village is a Ravine that connects two Lush Cave biomes together, creating a long path with few hostile mobs. This route, conveniently created by nature, gives you an opportunity to excavate far more resources with less risk. These Lush Caves could make for great bases for large mining operations where you search for Emeralds needed to trade with the Villagers on the surface.

Those looking for a secluded Cave seed far away from civilization should check out this world, which puts you on an isolated Island. This Island is large, hosting several hidden structures along its edges. However, this seed has a Lush Cave hidden within its main Island, giving you an extensive network of underground landscapes to enjoy rather than remain on the surface.
There are multiple tunnels and paths to explore in this seed's Island depths, all under the bright light of the Lush Cave and flowing lava. Multiple Lush Cave systems are spread out underground in this world, giving you plenty of places to uncover. Ambitious landscapers might even want to start a project to connect every Lush Cave to create a huge network of caverns linked together in a huge underground base.

This seed presents arguably the most challenge from any Cave world, as it spawns you directly in an Ancient City structure. The Warden boss here will hunt you down, creating an experience where you have to navigate the maze-like ruins of an old civilization to find safety. Ambitious players can sneak around for loot and supplies to grow stronger, but the dark caverns in this seed are full of many dangers.
Once you've gotten strong while living deep underground in this seed's Caves, you can challenge Trial Chambers for even more items. This world is for combat veterans of Minecraft who can survive on basic supplies from the far-away surface. The constant pressure to fight in this Cave seed can create a fresh experience as you try to overcome hurdles to gain more strength.

Villages typically do not spawn in caves, but this seed is a clear exception. In this world, you can discover a Dripstone Cave Village with several buildings underground right from where you spawn within the caverns of the seed. Exposed to the sky, this Village is an odd but beautiful location devoid of hostile mobs due to how the sun shines upon it during the day.
Alongside the massive Dripstone Cave biome, this Village is only a small part of an entire settlement just waiting on the surface. You can gather supplies from the Villagers here before delving deep into the caverns below, using a home as your starting base if you want. This pristine area is a perfect staging ground for deep, detailed exploration of caverns that stretch far into the surrounding mountains of this world.

This Cave seed is one of the most visually impressive that I've ever found, as it hosts a Lush Cave exposed into the side of a large Mountain. This solitary mountain lies deep within an expanse of Forest biomes, with half of its peak carved out to reveal a beautiful Lush Cave within. While this isn't the best speedrun seed in Minecraft, the view from this Mountain's Cave is worth seeing at least once.
The Mountain hosting the exposed Lush Cave in this world seed is located at coordinates (-275, 214, 99) on your map. Enable your settings to display your location in the world to make this landmark easier to find.
Building a base within this seed's Lush Cave can give you plenty of safety from hostile mobs. In addition to the gorgeous view from the Mountain, having a Cave so high up in the world makes it easy to look for resources without traveling too far away. This seed is perfect for those who want to take the time to make their base look good in an already attractive location.

This seed does not spawn you in the Cave biome you're searching for, instead challenging you to trek across vast deserts to find a diamond in the rough sands. At coordinates (-9932, -11282), you'll finally come across a mountain structure in the Badlands that hosts a triple-layered Lush Cave system, with vast ravines and cascading waterfalls. Like an Oasis among the red and yellow blocks, this Lush Cave is a base builder's dream come true.
The top layer of this seed's Lush Cave is a flat expanse, almost begging for an outpost of some sort to be made. Digging deeper into the bottom layers will not only reveal a path to a nearby River leading out of the huge Desert and Badlands biomes, but also plenty of unique resources to mine. Twisting paths within this huge Cave will get you lost for hours, as your entire Minecraft playthrough could be consolidated in this space alone.

This seed hosts an infinite Abandoned Mineshaft structure from the moment you spawn deep within a Cave biome. This Cave has both major types of the biome present, expanding its available resources to more than most worlds would normally provide. However, the main focus of this seed is the endless Mineshaft, which hosts a variety of different treasures for you to discover.
There are over 20 treasure chests you can loot for various gear and supplies in this seed, making this world one of the best for ambitious cave divers. A huge waterfall marks the center of the Mineshaft, giving you an easy way out if you are done exploring. This makes the Mineshaft feel like a huge dungeon for you to investigate bit by bit as you grow stronger from the treasures you gather.
