1000-lb Sisters star Amy Slaton corrects lazy eye with surgery and shows off dramatic results

TLC’s Amy Slaton has proven she’s not just transforming her figure - now she’s taking her look to a whole new level.

The 1000-lb Sisters star, who rose to fame alongside her sister Tammy Slaton on the long-running series chronicling their weight-loss journey, recently went under the knife… but this time it had nothing to do with pounds.

A new clip obtained by TMZ on Friday shows Amy undergoing surgery to finally correct her lazy eye, a condition she’s battled since birth.

Back in 2015, she revealed on YouTube that she has ocular toxoplasmosis - a rare eye infection caused by a parasite - which left her legally blind in one eye.

The clip also reveals that doctors had to operate on both eyes, while her husband, Brian Lovvorn, anxiously waited nearby, telling the camera his biggest fear was Slaton not waking up from anesthesia.

Fans won’t have to wait long to see the results on TV, either - the full episode airs March 3, and Slaton has already been teasing her dramatic new look on social media.

In an Instagram post on Friday, she flaunted a chic outfit she wore for an event signing the day before.

While the ensemble was certainly impressive, it wasn’t just her striking weight loss that stole the show - her lazy eye surgery results were on full display, too.

Slaton beamed at the camera, flashing her megawatt smile, looking happier than ever.

She also gave fans a peek at her new look in a recent TikTok, delivering a hilarious plea for more South Park episodes while showing off her fresh face.

The surgery comes just months after she tied the knot with Lovvorn in a spooky Halloween-night celebration.

The couple said 'I do' at the historic Talbott Tavern, a centuries-old inn rumored to be haunted - an eerily perfect setting for the pair, who got engaged months earlier in the padded room of a haunted house in Henderson, Kentucky.

Slaton's sisters Tammy and Misty were on hand to witness the proposal, and in photos shared to Instagram, Tammy posed next to her sister in a stunning white gown, her remarkable weight loss fully visible.

Since late 2022, Tammy has shed 500 pounds following bariatric surgery and subsequent skin removal procedures.

For the big day, Slaton dyed her hair a 'special color' at Lovvorn's request and styled it in a Victorian-inspired updo, per People.

Her gown dazzled with floral and vine beading details, adding a romantic, ethereal touch.

The couple exchanged traditional vows in a ceremony officiated by their friend Billy — who also officiated Tammy’s late husband Caleb Willingham’s wedding in 2022

'Getting married means that I’m no longer because I’ve discovered my soulmate, Brian, is my happy place!' Slaton told People.

'Once you get to know him, you’ll find him to be the sweetest, most caring person you’ll ever have the pleasure of knowing! Not only did he capture my heart, but he also won over my boys and not many men out there will accept a single mom with two energetic boys!;

Slaton shares two sons - Gage Deon, 4, and Glenn Allen, 3 - with ex-husband Michael Halterman.

Meanwhile, Tammy has been incredibly candid about her journey -  much of which has been documented on 1000-Lb. Sisters - and back in April 2025, she proudly revealed she was down ‘500 pounds.’

‘When I was at my heaviest, I was 700-plus pounds,’ she shared on the TLC series. ‘Right now, I’m weighing in at 238.’

Tammy even compared her progress to that of her sister Amy, who had lost 176 pounds at the time.

‘Everyone is telling me I look smaller than Amy,’ she said. ‘That’s kind of hard to believe. I can’t believe I did that.’

After hitting her milestone, Tammy revealed in June that she finally underwent skin removal surgery earlier this year.

‘I was just overwhelmed with excitement,’ she told People, recalling the moment she was approved.

‘I worked really hard for this, and now it’s here. I’m pretty sure it was noticeable on my face how immediately shocked and then overwhelmed with joy I was.’

Tammy spent 14 months at Windsor Lane Rehabilitation Center in Gibsonburg, Ohio, where she lost more than 400 pounds through treatment and bariatric surgery.

It was also where she met her late husband, Caleb Willingham.

Nicknamed ‘Double K,’ Caleb appeared alongside Tammy on the show as they fought to overcome their chronic obesity.

The two tied the knot in a small, intimate ceremony with around 30 guests, officiated by their home care nurse.

Tragically, just months after their wedding, Caleb died at age 40. His cause of death was never made public.

Tammy spoke about the heartbreaking moment she found out, revealing that a friend of Caleb’s first messaged her saying things weren’t looking good — and then delivered the devastating news just 20 minutes later.

‘I was sitting in the fetal position,’ she recalled to People.

‘I got a text message from his friend up there and the text said, "Caleb's not doing good. They're in there working on him.” Twenty minutes later, he texted me back and said he was gone.’In a previous season of 1000-Lb. Sisters, Tammy also admitted their relationship had changed in his final months, saying they ‘felt like roommates’ before his passing.
