Invincible has introduced some of the greatest villains in modern TV, with its fourth installment upping the ante. The series setup ensures that there is at least one new antagonist in every episode for Mark and the Guardians to go up against, but there are also glimpses of villains from the show’s past seasons. Although the Viltrumites have dominated Invincible’s antagonist lineup, the latest installment in the series offers some variety.
Universa
Universa Is A Methodical Villain
For four seasons, Invincible has capitalized on aliens who come to Earth to either dominate the planet's inhabitants or obtain something vital to the survival of their homeworld. In season 4’s first episode, a new, powerful antagonist, Universa, is introduced to the series.
Universa is the perfect encapsulation of ruthlessness. She is pragmatic and disciplined to a fault, but also cruel when it comes to securing the power essential to her dying home planet. Using her Staff of Leadership, Universa cannot only drain energy but also locate it across different sources. Of course, how she goes about saving her world is wrong, but the fact that she doesn’t get power just for the sake of it makes her a complex villain.
Dinosaurus
Dinosaurus Combines Intelligence With Strength
At first glance, Dinosaurus comes off as a giant creature intent on wreaking havoc on humanity. However, he is more than that. As the alter ego of the brilliant scientist, David Anders, Dinosaurus is such a powerful being because he possesses two dangerous characteristics: brute strength and superintelligence.
Like many villains, Dinosaurus believes that the end justifies the means. He has a warped view of what he does, thinking that saving the world and destroying some things as he embarks on his mission is okay. Although Mark defeated Dinosaurus in their confrontation, the villain's superhuman agility, speed, and combat skills shone through during their fight.
Sequids
The Sequid's Hive Mind Mentality Is Terrifying
Sequids are one of the creepiest and most dangerous alien threats in Invincible. Unlike powerful individual villains in the series, the Sequids are terrifying because they function as a parasitic hive mind, capable of taking over entire populations. Once they attach themselves to a host, they assume total control and override the host's nervous system.

10 Strongest Invincible Characters In The Comics, Ranked
Invincible is full of incredible warriors, but some of the strongest heroes and villains haven't even been introduced to the TV show yet.
One sequid might not be dangerous, but when there are many, the alien species can spread pretty quickly and take over entire races, cities, and even planets. Despite their parasitic nature, the Sequids depend on physical attachment to fully take control of their hosts. Species like the Viltrumites have impermeable skins, meaning that the Sequids can't neurologically integrate with them.
Volcanikka
Volcanikka Proves That Non-Viltrumites Are Also Powerful
In Invincible, Volcanikka serves as a perfect example that there are powerful villains in the series who don’t hail from planet Viltrum. One of the main antagonists in Invincible season 4, Volcanikka, stole the throne from Satan, with the agenda of releasing the Viles from Hell to control the Under Realm and destroy the surface world.
Although powerful in her own right, the lava elemental warrior is capable of easily creating the Magmanites, which do her bidding and give her an upper hand in any fight. Volcanikka’s motivations are unclear in Invincible season 4. She might be a villain who kills and conquers just for the sake of it, or there might be a reason behind her path of destruction.
Flaxans
The Flaxans Technological Advancements Contribute To Why They Are Difficult To Defeat
Another alien race in Invincible, the Flaxans, are inter-dimensional creatures who invade Earth using portals from their world. Seeing as how common conquering other worlds is in Invincible, the Flaxans come off as just another race determined to bring the human planet under their control.
The Flaxans, however, are not regular villains. On their home planet, time moves differently. Basically, mere months on Earth can be centuries in their world. So every time they attempt an invasion, and it fails, and then they return to their home world, they have ample time to plan and come back better with more technological advancements.
Mister Liu
Mister Liu Is A Formidable Adversary
Mister Liu might not be a cosmic-level threat like the Viltrumites, but he is undoubtedly one of the most dangerous criminals in Invincible. The recurring antagonist in Invincible has proven time and time again that he is not easy to defeat, even when he is fighting against the likes of Mark. The former leader of The Order can transform into a giant dragon and is as ruthless as he is cunning.
Invincible season 4 revealed that Mister Liu survived Titan’s attack. However, he was in a weakened state and wasn’t able to reclaim his position as the leader of The Order. Still, the wizened old man could hold his own even when he was not at full strength. He was able to fend off Oliver and Mark when they came toe-to-toe.
Lucan
Lucan Represents True Viltrumite Strength
Initially introduced in Invincible season 2, Lucan is the perfect example of pure Viltrumite strength. The high-ranking Viltrumite soldier hasn’t been explored as thoroughly as other villains in Invincible, but even in the few moments he has been on screen, he has proved that he fights with precision and control.
At heart, Lucan is a true soldier. He is not only an efficient fighter, but he also accepts orders without question and goes on to carry them perfectly. For most of Invincible season 4, Lucan’s true power isn’t shown until the show’s seventh episode. In some ways, Lucan is a standard Viltrumite, and the fact that he survived the purge and the deadly virus demonstrates why he is one of the elites.
Kregg
Kregg's Calmness Hides A Darker Side
As the second-in-command, Kregg is one of the most important Viltrumites in Invincible. While he isn’t as flashy as villains like Conquest, he’s widely considered one of the most feared members of his race because of how complex he is. In more ways than one, Kregg isn’t a regular villain. The fact that he isn’t driven by cruelty or ego and is only a soldier following orders is what makes him scary.
What makes Kregg one of the most interesting villains in Invincible is that he doesn’t have to constantly show off his power. His authority, experience, and calm demeanor speak for themselves. For most of Invincible, General Kregg doesn’t go into battle unless there’s a need for the kind of power he yields, which shows just how respected he is as a seasoned warrior.
Conquest
Conquest's Sadistic Nature Makes Him Dangerous
Viltrumites began conquering other planets due to their belief that it was their duty as a superior race. Most of them didn’t revel in the violence that came with this, but simply engaged in it because it was who they were. Conquest, on the other hand, is a whole different story. The Viltrumite soldier genuinely enjoys fighting and killing.
Conquest is not just one of the strongest Viltrumites in Invincible, but he is also one of the most powerful characters in the show. He is capable of going head-to-head with the best of them and most likely to be the victor in the battle. It took the combined effort of Mark and Eve to bring him down at the end of Invincible season 3, but even that didn’t completely stop him.
Thragg
Thragg's Power Is Unmatched
The Grand Regent of the Viltrumite Empire, Thragg, is by far the strongest adversary in Invincible to date. As the leader of the feared race, Thragg’s belief in Viltrumite might is unshakable. He is not only a master planner, but his lack of emotional conflict and moral hesitation is what adds an edge to his strength.
In Invincible season 4, Thragg was teased as the primary villain Mark would have to fight. So far, we haven’t seen Thragg at full strength. However, even the little power he has portrayed in the battle against the Coalition of Planets is proof that he is a force to be reckoned with, because even when the heroes were giving it their all, they didn’t so much as leave a scratch on the Grand Regent.
