The gaming industry is more profitable and popular than ever, but with technology improving at a diminishing rate, console lifespans become longer, w became the best-selling game on the console. Players can select an array of racers and embark on trials, cups, tournaments, and battles. This game offers a large range of courses and races to compete in online, single-player, or couch coop.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe didn't place higher because it is simply a port from the Wii U, but as the best-selling game, it had to be featured. This definitive Mario Kart game is a masterful video game from the 2010s and has some of the best course design ever, dripping with creativity, details, and opportunities in every race. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is a tightly designed game that perfects the formula, establishing itself as a console-selling must-play masterpiece, even if it is just a port.
7 'Super Mario Bros. Wonder' (2023)
Image via NintendoThe era of 2D platformers is mostly behind fans, with the 3D realm proving to be too engaging and satisfying. However, Nintendo proves the genre can still be creative when they released Super Mario Bros. Wonder. Bowser has grown tired of the Mushroom Kingdom, now planning to take control over the Flower Kingdom by using its wonder flower to fuse him with the castle. Luckily, Mario and Luigi are here to stop him.
2D platformers went out of style because they became predictable and stale after many felt like they couldn't be improved upon. However, Super Mario Bros. Wonder flips the script, creating an unpredictable spectacle of imaginative mechanics and style. The level design abandons the normal formula in favor of a brilliant new approach that subverts expectations. Super Mario Bros. Wonder has a fantastic gimmick, bringing 2D platformers back in style.
6 'Animal Crossing: New Horizons' (2020)
The best thing Nintendo does is diversify its games, which creates an expansive catalogue that appeals to a wide range of fans, with genres such as life-sims being some of the most popular. Animal Crossing: New Horizons gives players full control over an island, allowing them to build houses, tend the gardens, and manage its inhabitants.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons was the must-play game of the pandemic, and with hours of spare time, fans sank it all into the endless replay value that this game offers. Its charming style and addictive gameplay blend to create an endearing Nintendo game that veteran and new fans both enjoy. Animal Crossing: New Horizons is another staple of the Nintendo Switch that all fans need to try.
5 'Luigi's Mansion 3' (2019)
Image via NintendoMario has dozens of games, but Luigi barely gets the same respect. Thankfully, he has one acclaimed franchise, and the Nintendo Switch brought it back with the release of Luigi's Mansion 3. After Mario, Peach, and others get kidnapped by ghosts in their hotel, Luigi is the only one left. However, he faces his fears by navigating the haunted hotel to find and free them.
Luigi's Mansion 3 is one of the best-looking games on the Nintendo Switch, providing pristine visuals and an ambitious scale. It also has an underrated narrative and environmental storytelling that uses clues, hints, and design techniques to guide the player without being too obvious. With its Poltergust gimmick and well-designed interactive rooms, Luigi's Mansion 3 is a phenomenal puzzle game.
4 'The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom' (2023)
Image via NintendoThe Legend of Zelda is Nintendo's most critically acclaimed franchise, and 2023 saw a highly anticipated sequel, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. After exploring a cave underneath Hyrule Castle, Link and Zelda accidentally awaken Ganondorf, who quickly raises the castle into the sky, sending the princess into the past. Link must try to find Zelda and piece together the mystery that is slowly enveloping the kingdom.
It may be better than its predecessor in every way, but it only built upon what the original made, making it less influential and impressive. Still, Tears of the Kingdom is a masterpiece with a better story, sense of adventure, exploration, physics-based system, interactive mechanics, bosses, and dungeons. As one of the best fantasy video games of all time, it made exploration even greater, expanding on one of the greatest worlds in video game history. It's systemic gameplay that arises from the player's curiosity and imagination that fuels the adventure of a lifetime.
3 'Super Mario Odyssey' (2017)
Image via NintendoNintendo usually releases multiple 3D Mario games on a single console, which makes it strange that the Nintendo Switch, which had such a long lifespan, only received one 3D Mario title. However, despite being the only one of its genre on the console, Super Mario Odyssey is perfect. When Bowser kidnaps Princess Peach to serve as his bride, Mario must travel around multiple kingdoms to find and save her.
As the only 3D Mario game on the console, Super Mario Odyssey had to be perfect, and it achieved this impossible task flawlessly. The many sandbox worlds are jam-packed with collectibles and platforming amazement, and when paired with the many jumping mechanics, players are given the most agency they have ever had in a Mario game. The capture mechanic added an extra layer of entertainment that made each level more compelling.
2 'Super Smash Bros. Ultimate' (2018)
Image via NintendoEveryone loves a good crossover, and Nintendo gave fans the biggest gaming crossover ever with Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. With a roster of Nintendo heavyweights, players can battle in a plethora of ways, including the story mode. With everyone turned into an evil clone, Kirby is the last one remaining to save the day.
Nintendo has only ever needed one fighting game because they perfected it immediately, and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is the product of years of improvement. With hundreds of characters and stages, gamers can be whoever, wherever, taking the challenge against friends or AI. Its combat is simple on the surface but incredibly deep, and the way it balances through chaos is brilliant, with the many items, power-ups, and overall scale making Super Smash Bros. Ultimate one of the best modern-day gaming sensations.
1 'The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild' (2017)
Image via NintendoAs mentioned, The Legend of Zelda is Nintendo's best franchise, and the Nintendo Switch's best game was also its first, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Zelda barely managed to seal Ganon away, but it left Hyrule to get consumed by nature over the years. But after Link finally wakes up, he must travel around the kingdom to battle the beast and defeat him once and for all.
Technically, this is a Wii U game, but since it also launched with the Nintendo Switch, it is considered the latter's game. There aren't many games better than Breath of the Wild, and definitely not on this console. It redefined the open-world format by creating open-air design, allowing players' curiosity to take them anywhere. If they see something, they can go to it, whether they run, climb, or glide, offering an unparalleled sense of freedom with no limits to imagination. Plus, the physics-based engine creates systematic gameplay where players are encouraged to experiment with the world. The Nintendo Switch has one of the best catalogues of games ever, boasting an impressive selection of some of the greatest video games of all time, and as a timeless, defining, influential, innovative, and flawless masterpiece, Breath of the Wild earns its spot at number one on this list.

🕷️ Spider-Man
You carry the weight of the world on shoulders that are younger than they should have to be — funny, loyal, and endlessly self-sacrificing.
- You do the right thing not because it's easy, but because no one else will.
- You understand that responsibility isn't a burden you choose — it's one that finds you.
- Whether it's a neighbourhood mugging or a multiverse crisis, you show up.
- Peter Parker's lesson — that great power demands great responsibility — isn't a slogan to you. It's the code you live by, even when it costs you everything.
😈 Daredevil
You fight in the shadows between law and chaos, guided by a fierce moral compass that refuses to let the guilty walk free.
- You use every tool available — your mind, your body, your faith — to protect those the system overlooks.
- You've looked into the darkness and chosen not to become it, though the line has never been easy.
- Matt Murdock's duality — champion in the courtroom, devil in the alley — mirrors your own.
- Relentless, conflicted, and unwilling to stop. That is exactly you.
🤖 Iron Man
Brilliant, driven, and occasionally insufferable — but always the person who solves the unsolvable problem.
- You lead with your mind and back it up with resources, innovation, and a stubbornness that borders on heroic.
- You started out looking out for yourself, but somewhere along the way the world became your responsibility.
- Tony Stark's arc — from ego to sacrifice — is your arc too.
- You build, you plan, and when the moment comes, you're willing to give everything. Because in the end, you're Iron Man.
💀 The Punisher
You've been through fire that would break most people — and it did change you, completely. What's left is unyielding, relentless, and operating by a code forged in grief.
- You don't ask for forgiveness, and you don't expect gratitude.
- You see a corrupt, broken world and you've decided to do something about it, consequences be damned.
- Frank Castle's war is born from love twisted by loss — and so is yours.
- Uncompromising and unflinching — the world may not agree with your methods, but your conviction is absolute.
⚡ Thor
Powerful, proud, and on a lifelong journey to become worthy of the legend you carry.
- You lead with strength but have learned — sometimes painfully — that true greatness comes from humility and growth.
- You're larger than life, yet more vulnerable than you let on.
- Thor's story is one of transformation: from arrogant prince to worthy king, from isolated warrior to beloved protector.
- You bring the storm when it's needed — and the warmth when it matters just as much.
🛡️ Captain America
You believe in something bigger than yourself — and you fight for it even when the world has moved on and nobody else will.
- You don't bully the small guy, and you never stop when it gets hard.
- Steve Rogers didn't become a hero when he got the serum — he was always one. So were you.
- Your strength isn't in your fists; it's in your refusal to compromise what's right, no matter the cost.
- In a world full of people taking the easy road, you're the one who picks up the shield and stands up — every single time.
