Known as 'Cyberpunk 2077's' biggest fan, Angharad is a Welsh games writer who thrives in anything related to digital storytelling. If a video game explores the intricacies and horrors of womanhood, she is there.

Thanks to previous work at GAMINGbible, GameByte, The Loadout, Game Luster, Angharad has built a strong understanding of both the digital world and what fans want from it and is eager to share her thoughts and expertise with readers.

It has been almost a month since 007: First Light launched to critical acclaim. Shedding a light on James Bond's origin story, the action-adventure game by IO Interactive is pipped as one of the Game of the Year contenders, and it seems as though its popularity is still alive and well.

Launched back in May, 007: First Light features an original narrative inspired by the James Bond stories by author Ian Fleming. Played by Irish actor Patrick Gibson, the game consists of thrilling espionage as Bond turns from a reckless recruit into the MI6 agent that we all know and love since his first appearance way back in 1962.

With supporting actors consisting of Lennie James, Lenny Kravitz, and Gemma Chan, 007: First Light was already designed for success, and that is exactly what it achieved when it sold over 2.7 million copies in its first week of release. Praised for its writing, combat, and performances, 007: First Light is one of 2026's success stories, and its hype is far from over.

If there is one thing that James Bond loves, it is a gadget, and throughout the events of 007: First Light, players will get to grips with all sorts of technology, including a (very) smartwatch, exploding pen and camera, lasers, and a lot more. One such gadget is the dart phone, which, as you can probably imagine, looks a lot like a smartphone, but is able to shoot out darts that can make the enemy feel quite unwell, and therefore susceptible to attack.

Now, to celebrate the Summer Game Fest which took place last month, the official 007: First Light Twitter/X account has announced an exclusive skin for Bond's in-game dart phone. Players will be able to pick up the Spotlight Phone Gadget skin for free by heading over to player.gg and redeeming the "outfit" to bring it along on your next TacSim mission. Available until 30 June, you had better hurry if you do not want to miss out on this exclusive reward.

This is just one of many different skins and cosmetics you can get for both James and his gadgets in 007: First Light. Although you cannot unlock new skins in the campaign, you can take part in the TacSim mode to unlock exclusive items to show off in-game. If you want Gibson's Bond to showcase some iconic outfits from movies past, make sure to make use of this game mode.

With the 007: First Light saga set to continue with a sequel in the future, this is just the beginning for our much younger Bond, so we can only hope that IO Interactive continues to knock it out of the park.
