Hope you’ve gotten your fill of Zootopia 2 on the big screen these past few months, because it’s gradually heading home starting tomorrow.
On January 27, the Disney sequel will arrive on digital storefronts like Prime Video and Apple TV. Bonus features include deleted scenes, behind-the-scenes featurettes on the film’s production, art, and voice cast, and “a celebratory spotlight on the music of Shakira.” (One featurette digs into the Disney Animation references spread throughout the movie and fun facts.) For the physical fans, it’ll hit 4K Ultra HD, Blu-Ray, and DVD on March 3, and it’s being bundled with the first Zootopia in a two-film bundle for physical and digital formats. Disney+ subscribers will have to wait a while before it comes there, though.
Earlier in January, Zootopia 2 became the biggest animated movie in Hollywood history—Ne Zha II carries the “of all time” honor—at $1.7 billion. As of this weekend, that number’s now flown up to $1.744 billion, and it’s been nominated for Best Animated Feature at the Academy Awards. Maybe Disney will put it back in theaters closer to the Oscars airing on March 15, but there’s been no word on that yet. Either way, it’s probably going to be watched a lot now that it’ll be available for everyone.
