Zendaya and Tom Holland Are Engaged
Zendaya and Tom Holland's romance has reached new heights: They're engaged.
Nearly four years after the pair—who played fated love interests in the most recent Spider-Man installments—went public with their off-screen romance, they're soaring to the next level with a marriage proposal, TMZ, citing sources close to the couple, reports.
This engagement confirmation comes after Zendaya wore a gorgeous diamond ring on that finger while at the 2025 Golden Globes on Jan. 5, sending speculation into overdrive.
"Well congrats to zendaya and tom on the engagement i think??" a fan wrote on X, formerly Twitter. "That is a ROCK."
Plus, the Los Angeles Times noted in an article published on Jan. 5, as a reporter held up her left ring finger and pointed at it, Zendaya responded by showing off her own ring. And when outright asked if she was engaged, the actress simply responded with a shrug and telling smile.
Indeed, Zendaya and Tom first sent our real universe was sent into a tailspin when the actors were first seen engaging in PDA in July 2021, rumors of an off-camera relationship have followed the duo since as early as 2017, when fans began to speculate that the two were more than just friendly co-stars. And at the time, a source confirmed to E! News that they were in fact, dating after they bonded while filming.
"They got to know each other while on set," an insider shared in July 2017. "They became friends and started getting romantic a few months ago. They both are such great people. It's cool they got together. Everyone gets along with them."
Nonetheless, Tom and Zendaya, both 28, denied the ongoing rumors, explaining in later interviews that they were just "friends" and continuously poked fun at the notion with jokes on social media.
But fast forward four years later, and their on-screen chemistry became, of course, undeniable in real life.

And although the couple managed to keep the details of their romance private, Zendaya herself didn't miss the opportunity to gush over what she "appreciated" the most about the on-screen superhero.
"In an actor way, I appreciate that he really loves being Spider-Man," she told InStyle in October 2021. "It's a lot of pressure—you take on the role of a superhero wherever you go. To the little kid who walks by, you are Spider-Man. I think he handled that so well."

In fact, she remembers taking in all the action up close while playing MJ.
"Our director allowed me to come in every day [of the shoot]," she explained. "And it was cool to see how he cares so much about his work and making it right. I watched him do a fight scene all day, which is exhausting. He'd do a move, come back to the monitors, watch it, and say, ‘I can do that better.' I'd be like, ‘Dude, you got it.' But he wants us to be perfect, and I really appreciate that."
But what the actress also appreciates about him, as she noted, is that Tom is a "fun time."
"Very charismatic," she added. "[He] can make anybody feel comfortable and have a good laugh and a good chat."

The couple has occasionally showed off their love in their own subtle ways (we're talking everything from matching jerseys to sweet Instagram posts), but as Tom explained, he's also been very careful to keep their private life just that.
"I share so much of my life with the world anyway," he told GQ in November 2021. In reference to their headline-making PDA pic, he added, "We sort of felt robbed of our privacy. I don't think it's about not being ready. It's just that we didn't want to."
And it's clear that Zendaya is also on the same page of assuming great power (and great responsibility) over keeping their relationship close to their hearts.
"The equal sentiment [we both share] is just that when you really love and care about somebody, some moments or things, you wish were your own," she told the outlet. "I think loving someone is a sacred thing and a special thing and something that you want to deal with and go through and experience and enjoy amongst the two people that love each other."
