The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time still holds up today for myriad reasons. It's one of the best action-adventure games of all time, namely because it's so focused. Although it's easy to get off track and start working on the droves of sidequests the game offers (including some of its deepest mysteries), you canget back on track even more easily, since nearly everything is connected by Hyrule Field.

But in the new remake, you'll want to pay even closer attention to some of the locales. Extra quality-of-life additions appear at nearly every turn, and the visual upgrade will bring some spaces to life like never before. To make them pop even more, you'll want to use a small tip we came across during our travels with Link.

Cutscenes Have A Secret Button

When playing through Zelda: Ocarina of Time again on Switch 2 via the remake, I discovered something unexpected. In cutscenes in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake, you can press the left stick (L3) to remove the overlay andsubtitles. The game doesn't teach this right away, but it'll come in handy if you're taking tons of photos.

Since the Ocarina of Time remake is gorgeous and has a huge draw distance, you'll want to take as many photos as possible. Every biome, whether it's Death Mountain or Zora's Domain, has its own unique color scheme. Just remember that at any time when text is taking up the screen, you can press/hold L3 to make your photos look even more pristine.

Ocarina Of Time Remake Is Gorgeous

Zelda Sword Pull

I took countless photos for Ocarina of Time, possibly more than any other Switch 2 game released so far. It's easy to get distracted by something off in the distance, run to it, and discover it's not the exact same design as the Nintendo 64 or 3DS editions.

The Switch 2 lets the giant world pop, and now includes cutscenes with the same trick. The further you get into the game, the more useful a photo filter becomes. Later on, especially as you approach the point where you enter the Temple of Time, some dazzling sequences are worth capturing in perpetuity.

Dungeons should be a little more fun to capture too, especially during some of the more dramatic boss cutscenes. Suffice it to say, the biggest trick this remake pulls off is making everyone want a Majora's Mask remake next.

As one of the best Zelda games in existence (and one of the most complicated entries), it'll be the one everyone requests next, and it would be perfect for this remake treatment, especially with extras from the updated 3DS version. Just imagine freezing the action to take a screenshot of Fierce Deity Link unleashing an attack.

The Ocarina of Time remake is a true wonder on multiple levels, and it's likely to ensnare a new generation of fans. With any luck, we'll see as many photos as possible from these experiences.
