And Your Honor season 2 gives the story and characters a solid send-off, resolving the majority of storylines left open in season 1. The outcome of Eugene Jones' murder trial is revealed in Your Honor season 2's finale, and Michael Desiato also comes clean about his actions in season 1. Fia makes a difficult decision about her baby, and Desire reunites and forms a new relationship with the Baxter family. While there are still avenues to explore with the Baxters and Desire, everything is neatly tied up when Your Honor comes to a close.
Is Eugene Jones Found Guilty In Your Honor Season 2? His Fate Explained
Olivia Prevents Eugene From Going To Prison
A good portion of Your Honor season 2 focuses on what happens to Eugene after he shoots Adam Desiato in the season 1 finale. While Big Mo gives the order to kill him, Little Mo takes mercy on the boy and lets him go. Eugene leaves New Orleans and hides out with Aunt Sheila for a while. Unfortunately, a series of unfortunate events lead him back to New Orleans, and people eventually realize he didn't die like Mayor Figaro, Big Mo, and the NOPD said. Rudy Cunningham tries to cover their lies and kill him, but Eugene survives being shot.
While he's at the hospital, Eugene is arrested, forcing him to stand trial during the latter half of Your Honor season 2. Despite Lee's attempts to get his sentence shortened, Eugene faces a lifetime in prison if convicted — and potentially even a life sentence. Lee does her best to sway the jury in his favor. There's no question that he shot Adam, but Lee attempts to convince the jurors that he's worthy of sympathy. And Michael Desiato's time on the witness stand does change things for Eugene, as he confesses his own crimes from Your Honor season 1.
Eugene can never reclaim his identity, but he's able to start again at the ending of
Your Honor.
When Michael is called as a witness, he admits that Adam is the one who killed Rocco, not Kofi Jones — and he confesses to covering up the hit-and-run. Michael's testimony garners sympathy for Eugene, but this isn't the only way Michael helps the boy. Realizing that Eugene's family didn't have gas when their home blew up, he tells Lee to use this angle when Eugene is on the stand. This confirms that the Baxters did, in fact, kill Eugene's entire family. And while they face no consequences, Eugene's actions make much more sense given the context.
It's hard to say if Eugene would still have been convicted after all this, as the jury never gets the chance to give a verdict.
Olivia Delmont, the federal agent working with Michael throughout Your Honor season 2, is touched by Eugene's story and decides to help. She makes him a key witness to the Baxter investigation, passing his case to the feds. In exchange for information about the Baxters — even minimal information — she allows Eugene to go into the witness protection program. Eugene can never reclaim his identity, but he's able to start again at the ending of Your Honor.

Why Michael Desiato Goes Back To Prison At The End Of Your Honor
He Needs To Face The Consequences Of Covering Up A Crime
Although Eugene walks free at the ending of Your Honor, the season 2 finale sees Michael going back to prison. This is because Michael never technically does time for covering up Adam's hit-and-run or influencing Carlo Baxter's trial. Because Olivia wants to use Michael in her investigation of the Baxters, his initial confession is buried. His first stint in prison is allegedly for "tax evasio n," and it seems that means he can still be convicted for his true crimes.
It seems he's content with serving time for his actions, and
Your Honor
season 2 allows him to tie up loose ends and redeem himself beforehand.
If Michael had kept quiet, his deal with Olivia probably would have kept him out of prison permanently. However, after a very public confession, it makes sense that he needs to face further consequences — this time on the record. To his credit, Michael reenters prison willingly. It seems he's content with serving time for his actions, and Your Honor season 2 allows him to tie up loose ends and redeem himself beforehand.

The Reason Fia Gives Up Her & Adam's Baby In Your Honor Season 2
Fia Wants To Give Rocco Adam Baxter A Better Life
Fia's story in Your Honor season 2 revolves around her and Adam's baby, and she decides to put Rocco Adam Baxter up for adoption at the end of the series. Fia doesn't do so lightly. As she tells Father Jay, she doesn't feel like she can give the boy a proper life. Fia's only 17 years old, and her options for jobs and opportunities are limited. She doesn't feel she can take care of Rocco properly, prompting her to hand him over to Father Jay and seek out a new life for herself.
By giving Rocco up for adoption, Fia removes him from all these negative influences and offers him a potentially better life.
It's also likely that Fia wants to get the baby away from her and Adam's families, as both sets of grandparents prove themselves untrustworthy. Knowing her family is involved in illegal and often violent activities, Fia doesn't want Rocco to have anything to do with the Baxters. And after Michael's betrayal, she probably feels Adam's family is nearly as bad. By giving Rocco up, Fia removes him from all the negative influences in her own life in an attempt to better his future.
Who's In Charge Of The Baxter Family At The Ending Of Your Honor (& Does Jimmy Survive)
Jimmy Survives Being Shot, But Gina & Carlo Are In Charge Now
Jimmy and Gina Baxter spend most of Your Honor season 2 locked in a power struggle, but Gina comes out on top during the finale. She convinces her father that Jimmy is threatening to throw her under the bus, which results in Carmine shooting Jimmy. Your Honor's ending reveals that Jimmy survives this encounter, and it shows Carmine in jail. It's unclear what Jimmy's life will be like after this injury, as the series doesn't give further details about his fate.
Jimmy's misfortune leaves Gina in charge of the Baxter family's business, and she seems committed to giving Carlo a bigger role in their affairs. He even takes off his tie, a nod to an earlier conversation with his father and an indication that he now answers to no one. The Baxters are poised to wreak havoc on New Orleans once more, even if their waterfront business doesn't actually happen. They end the series on a somewhat high note, even with Jimmy in the hospital and Fia leaving.

What Happens To Desire & Why Big Mo Sells Her Club In The French Quarter
Gina Baxter Allows Her To Sell Drugs In The City On 1 Condition
The Baxters aren't the only ones facing internal conflicts in Your Honor season 2, but Desire comes back from their problems even stronger than the mob family. Although Chris attempts to stage a coup against Big Mo, he's ultimately killed for doing so. Despite Big Mo kicking Little Mo out of Desire earlier in the season, her nephew takes her side in the conflict. It's thanks to him that she catches Chris in the act of betraying her, and this loyalty allows Little Mo to reunite with the gang.
After Janelle turns down her proposal, Big Mo winds up selling the jazz club that she purchased in the French Quarter. She strikes a deal with Gina Baxter, who allows her to sell her drugs in the city — something Jimmy couldn't stomach — as long as she gets off of the Baxter Hotel's street. Big Mo agrees, as her business dealings are more important than the club she wanted for sentimental reasons. She seems content with the decision at the ending of Your Honor, which sees her walking away with Little Mo and other members of Desire in tow.
The Real Meaning Of The Your Honor Ending
Justice Does Not Always Come In Expected Ways
Your Honor, at its heart, is about good people who do bad things and then struggle with them. Most of the people involved in the main conflicts of the series are simply protecting those they care about - whether that is their children or those involved in the family business. As a result, loyalty is a premium, and there is always someone else seeking justice who believes a person they care about has been wronged.
That makes most of the characters in the show sympathetic, and for much of the show’s run, it also leaves the audience anticipating secrets being revealed and justice being served (from a more legal standpoint), even if the situations are complicated. With the ending though, of Michael ending up in prison for an unexpected crime and Euegene ending up as a witness under government protection, it’s made clear that sometimes, justice comes in a way others least expect. Every ending in the series might not be perfect for the audience, but they are neatly tied up.
In the end, Your Honor does imply that justice always prevails, even if the outcome isn’t what might have been expected. That might not always end up true in real life, but it does seem that way for fiction.
Your Honor is a legal drama series starring Bryan Cranston as a respected judge whose son becomes involved in a hit-and-run accident. The incident sets off a dangerous chain of events that forces the judge to confront his own principles and navigate the moral complexities of the law. The series explores themes of justice, loyalty, and ethics, offering a compelling narrative of a father’s desperate attempts to protect his son.
