Woody Norman — the young BAFTA-nominated British star who first turned heads in A24’s “C’mon, C’mon” in 2021 — has signed with UTA.
The teenager recently wrapped Focus Feature’s historical action-drama “The Uprising,” based on the 14th century Peasant’s Revolt and a defining moment in English history. Directed by BAFTA winner and Oscar nominee Paul Greengrass, Norman appears in the film — due for release later this year — alongside Andrew Garfield, Cosmo Jarvis, Jamie Bell, Katherine Waterston and Thomasin McKenzie.
He will next be seen in Vladimir de Fontenay’s “Sukkwan Island” alongside Swann Arlaud, Ruaridh Mollica and Alma Pöysti. The film, based on the novella of the same name by David Vann, premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. Additional film credits include “The Last Voyage of the Demeter,” “The Electric State,” “Cobweb,” “The Current War,” “The Space Man,” “Bruno,” and “The Small Hand,” working with filmmakers such as André Øvredal, the Russo Brothers, Alfonso Gomez-Rejon, and Justin Molotnikov.
On television, Norman has appeared across a range of high-profile series including “Poldark,” “Les Misérables,” “The War of the Worlds,” “Troy: Fall of a City,” Starz’s “The White Princess,” and ITV’s “Peter and Wendy.”
For his breakout performance in “C’mon C’mon,” written and directed by Mike Mills and starring opposite Joaquin Phoenix, Norman — then aged 12 years old — was nominated for numerous awards, including a BAFTA film award for supporting actor and a Critic’s Choice Award for best young actor/actress. Among the awards that he won was the London Critics’ Circle Award for young British/Irish performer.
