Wolverine is one of the most brutal characters in Marvel Comics, and thanks to Invisible Woman, his well-established brutality becomes utter nightmare fuel. Sure, Wolverine is a great hero who regularly fights on the side of good, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t afraid to slaughter those who cross him, which is enough to instill fear in the hearts of even his strongest enemies. And now, Wolverine can instill that fear even before he has to spill any blood.
Marvel Comics has shared a new initiative celebrating the Fantastic Four across a number of comic book titles: Invisible! Variant Covers. These variant covers will feature Sue Storm-Richards aka the Invisible Woman interacting with a bunch of her fellow Marvel superheroes, including Wolverine.

Invisible! Variant Cover by artist David Baldeon for Wolverine Vol. 8 #7.
This variant cover features Wolverine in his Weapon X gear, running through the snowy woods as if hunting something or someone on behalf of the Weapon X Program. Behind him is the Invisible Woman, who doesn’t seem to be his target, but rather his accomplice. She’s not using her invisibility on herself to hide from Wolverine, she’s projecting her invisibility powers onto Wolverine instead to make him look even more terrifying than he already does. Sue has made Wolverine’s skin and muscles completely invisible, putting his adamantium skeleton on full display in truly horrific fashion.
Wolverine Has Never Been More Terrifying Thanks to Invisible Woman
This Invisible! Variant Cover Needs to be Marvel Comics Canon
This variant cover for Wolverine #7 presents fans with a badass visual. But, what if it was more than that? Indeed, the only downside to this variant cover is just that: it’s a variant cover. That means it’s more than likely that fans will never see this scene play out in Marvel Comics canon, which is a real shame, and should honestly be remedied by Marvel Comics right away.
Imagine if Sue and Logan went on a mission together to take down some villainous group or organization, and they did this to psychologically throw the bad guys off their game before destroying them altogether. That would be such a badass comic, and would turn this grisly visual into a legitimate battle tactic.
Logan Isn’t the Only ‘Wolverine’ Invisible Woman is Tangling With
Invisible! Variant Cover for Hellverine #4 by Artist Andrei Bressan

Invisible Woman isn’t just tangling with one ‘Wolverine’ during this ‘Invisible!’ initiative, as she’s also shown going toe-to-toe with another ‘Wolverine’: Logan’s son, Akihiro, aka Hellverine. Akihiro claimed the title of Wolverine many years ago alongside his sister, Laura, and his father, Logan. Now, however, he’s become a hell-powered antihero akin to Ghost Rider as Hellverine - a moniker also originally held by his father. And Invisible Woman is using her powers alongside this ‘Wolverine’ as well, which is a cool addition to this fun initiative.

Marvel recently introduced an all-new version of Wolverine, and he channels both Weapon X and the Winter Soldier while also charting a whole new path.
While the Hellverine variant cover is just as cool as the rest, the true standout has to be the Invisible! Variant Cover for Wolverine #7. Wolverine is already a character who is as iconic as he is brutal, and Invisible Woman just upped his well-established brutality by unlocking his nightmarish potential and making him utterly terrifying.
