The series is split into two timelines, the tragic events of the past and a distanced present, which focuses on four survivors being pushed together by someone threatening to expose what they did in the forest. Mystery surrounds the rest of the group's fate. Not even Yellowjacket's season 1 ending explains what really happened to the cursed soccer team and who or what is responsible.
Upon its debut, the Showtime series received excellent reviews, and seasons 1 and 2 garnered an extensive list of awards and nominations.
