Developed by The Coalition, Gears of War: E-Day tells the story of the Emergence Day that took place 14 years before the events of the first Gears of War title. In this sixth main installment, set to launch on PC and Xbox Series X/S, players will join Marcus Fenix and Dominic Santiago as they first battle the Locust Horde and embark on a desperate fight for survival.
Here at Screen Rant, we were lucky enough to play Gears of War: E-Day ahead of its launch next week, and our very own Chris Carter awarded it an impressive 9/10 stars, with his review reading:
Not all of its story beats work, but Gears of War: E-Day delivers as an action-packed romp through a futuristic city in peril. Between the enemy and arena variety, plus the jam-packed map that never feels like it's biting off more than it can chew, the development team has curated a pointed Gears experience.
If you're a newcomer, you'll acclimate fairly quickly to what Gears of War: E-Day is selling. If you're a hardcore fan, the gameplay innovations are fresh enough to warrant another go-around, and you might learn some extra lore in the process.
Now, just a few days from launch, and you may be wondering the exact time you will be able to get stuck into Gears of War: E-Day, and luckily, we have you covered with all the details.
As with many major AAA releases in recent years, there is a way to dive into the game ahead of its launch day, but as you can expect, this comes with spending a little extra money. E-Day does allow players to play early thanks to an early access period, and if you are willing to splash the cash, you can play up to five days early.
To do this, you will need to purchase either the Premium or Collector's Edition of the game, but with the Premium Edition costing upwards of £89.99, it could be inaccessible to many. However, if you truly want to play E-Day early, and you just so happen to have an active Game Pass subscription, you will be able to gain early access to the Premium version for just an extra $30.
Last but not least, here is a list of the times that Gears of War: E-Day will launch if you purchase an early access version:
