We're getting an "extended look" at Grand Theft Auto 6 on 27th August

Rockstar Games and Take Two have announced that an "extended look" trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6 will premiere first on Netflix on Thursday, the 27th August, at 3pm ET (8pm BST).

Following this, the Grand Theft Auto 6: An Extended Look trailer will also be released on the official Rockstar Games YouTube channel and the Grand Theft Auto 6 site at 9pm ET (2am BST) on the 27th August.

For other time zones, the Netflix premiere of this extended look will take place at 12pm PT / 7pm BST / 8pm CEST. For the later release of this extended look on the Rockstar YouTube channel and official GTA 6 website, you're looking at 6pm ET / 1am BST (28th) / 2am CEST (28th).

While the teaser for this extended look does not explicitly state that gameplay will be shown, it's certainly what fans of the series are hungering for - we've seen enough montages and glimpses of the game by now. GTA is set to launch this November, and we still don't really know what the gameplay will look like. The best we've had so far are dire AI recreations of trailer footage.

Premiering this extended look on Netflix of all places is certainly new, though Netflix' involvement in the video game space is itself no surprise. Earlier this year Fifa World Cup: launch Edition was released onto the streaming platform, and the company even owned a few game studios over the years including Night School Studio and Boss Fight Entertainment.

As for the release timing of this extended look, it comes as a ravenous hunger for more Grand Theft Auto 6 information has been growing fiercer. By this point in the Red Dead Redemption 2 or Grand Theft Auto 5 pre-release life cycle, hands-off previews were already out online. As such, impressions of Grand Theft Auto 6 are strangely absent from the public sphere.

There's no word on what exactly will be present in this extended look as of writing, nor how long it will be. This article will be updated as more information comes in.
