Venom: The Last Dance sets up a way to make Eddie Brock's son a replacement for both Venom and Spider-Man should Sony wish to capitalize on the opportunity. While Venom: The Last Dance's ending left hope the Marvel symbiote will return in some form or fashion going forward, it seems clear that if the Sony Spider-Man Universe is to continue onwards, it will be at least for the time being without the version of the Lethal Protector that audiences grew to love.
Venom: The Last Dance's cast brought a viable replacement to the forefront of things with its introduction of Agony as the remaining symbiote hero to make it out of the mayhem of the movie - but this isn't the only interesting way the finale teases at its prospective future. Both the story of the movie and the promise of more Knull in the future makes one comic figure seem all the more likely to appear in upcoming Marvel releases, especially since Sony could use them to fill both the Spider-Man and Venom-shaped gaps in the franchise.
Venom: The Last Dance Sets Up Dylan Brock's Marvel Story For The Sony Spider-Man Universe
Dylan Brock's Origin Story Makes Particular Sense To Happen After Venom: The Last Dance
With teases that further stories involving Knull are on the horizon made by Venom: The Last Dance director Kelly Marcel - who stated that the movie is "just the introduction to Knull. Obviously, he’s a massive character, so you could never do one and done with him," in Sony's presentation at 2024's New York Comic-Con - and a new symbiote hero set up at the end of the story, it stands to reason the movie sets up Sony's prospective film future. This makes one story focus in Venom: The Last Dance all the more interesting.
There are repeated insistences that Eddie would make a good father in Venom: The Last Dance - once directly from Venom, who talks about how family life could have been ideal for them - and in Eddie's interactions with and later saving of Leaf Moon, the youngest member of the Moon family. With Eddie having promised to not forget Venom, it would make sense if these moments led to him starting a family of his own sometime after the events of the movie, partially to make Venom's dreams be reality - which could thus bring Dylan Brock into the movie world.
The Venom Movie Series Already Have 2 Easy Ways To Justify Dylan Brock's Introduction
Sony Have More Than One Straightforward Way To Pull Off Introducing The Character
Naturally, the easiest way for the Sony Spider-Man Universe to justify introducing Dylan is having him be the son of Eddie Brock without any complications, since Venom: The Last Dance would make this a narrative choice that flows with what's gone before. While this would require some changes from the comics - wherein Eddie only learns of Dylan's existence years down the line - this approach is both the most straightforward and could allow Tom Hardy's Eddie Brock to potentially become Venom later down the line once more.
However, the movies have set up another way as well. In the comics, Dylan is the son of not just Anne Weying and Eddie Brock, but also the Venom symbiote, as the child is made from the symbiote codex remains left in Anne from Venom previously bonding to her in order to save her life.
As such, it'd be very much possible for Dylan to be Anne and her fiance (and now presumably husband) Dan's son in the Sony universe, only with her previous bonding with Venom to replicate the comic situation. This method could possibly even mean Dylan is still related to Eddie as well, due to him being Venom's main host and bonding with him prior to Anne.
Why Dylan Brock Is A Perfect Venom & Spider-Man Replacement For The Sony Spider-Man Universe
Dylan's Story Works On Many Levels That Mirror Other Characters
Dylan Brock is an ideal figure for the Sony Spider-Man Universe to use in that he can work in a role similar to both Venom and Spider-Man simultaneously. Most obviously, Dylan's relation to Venom and set of similar powers make him a direct parallel with the symbiote - and his half-human, half-symbiote genetic makeup is an especially interesting detail that would no doubt work well for a live-action adaptation much in the same way a big draw for the Venom trilogy was the seeing the character's alien powers made real.

Venom: The Last Dance features a sizable roster of new symbiotes and their hosts, going beyond Tom Hardy's Eddie Brock and Venom alone.
On the Spider-Man side of things, Dylan conventionally starts out as a younger character who discovers he has immense powers and who has to learn how to use them responsibly, which mirrors the Spider-Man story naturally. Dylan Brock even forms a notable friendship with Harry Osborn's son Normie, giving him direct parallels to Spider-Man and his lore even without his links to Venom.
While it'd be great for the Sony Spider-Man Universe to get its own official version of the webslinger, it's unclear how possible this would be. As such, instead exploring analagous stories and themes via Dylan Brock may be the way forward - especially since it'd let Sony also stay more strongly tied to the Venom movie series and its successes.
The Sony Spider-Man Universe Knull Future Teases Would Naturally Suit Dylan Brock
Knull's Marvel Comics Story Is Innately Tied To Dylan Brock
Knull being set up as a focal figure for follow-up on-screen Marvel stories lends itself well to the idea of Dylan Brock appearing in the franchise, since he's a key player in the King In Black comic storyline - which Knull's Venom: The Last Dance post-credits scene dialogue directly sets up - and has many other ties to Knull which it would make sense to be capitalized upon. Dylan's creation is partially brought about by the Symbiote hivemind wishing for a being to destroy Knull, and his existence leads to the freeing of Knull by Venom in order to save Dylan from Carnage in Absolute Carnage #5.

Venom: The Last Dance features all kinds of Easter eggs and Marvel references amid all the crazy symbiote mayhem and Knull the Symbiote God.
Since Dylan's story is so tied to Knull's - and the rest of the King In Black story has him as a key source of opposition to the evil god and symbiote creator - it seems logical for any extensive adaptation of Knull's story to involve at least consideration being given to bringing in Dylan Brock too. With the current vision for the future of the Sony Spider-Man Universe uncertain, and now seemingly without Venom as its biggest draw, Dylan Brock could be just what the franchise needs - especially since Venom: The Last Dance already paved the way to his introduction.
Venom: The Last Dance is the third and final installment in Sony's symbiote trilogy starring Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock. It follows the events of Let There Be Carnage, where the anti-hero fought serial killer Cletus Kasady, and Spider-Man: No Way Home, where Brock was briefly transported to the MCU through the multiverse.
