One of the best things about the PlayStation Plus service is that you can get a massive amount of gameplay hours from the games included in your subscription. There are many games you'll easily recognize, as well as many others that you've never heard of, and they're all sitting there ready for you to download and try out with no cost other than what you've already paid for your subscription.
Currently, there's a lot of debate regarding PlayStation Plus increasing its prices, but it can also be hard to deny the value that the subscription provides when they have $50+ games available to play that are included for free. Plus, many of these titles can offer hundreds of hours of gameplay. That's certainly the case with Conan Exiles, which is available for Extra and Premium subscribers.
This PlayStation Plus Freebie Is A Huge Survival RPG
Mixed Reviews, But Worth It At The Free Price Tag
Conan Exiles may have had a rocky launch, and still has mixed reviews among players, but over the years it has been polished and streamlined to provide a better experience than what was first seen. Even if it's not a five-star game, however, it's hard to pass up at least trying it when it costs nothing and can potentially offer 139+ hours of exciting gameplay, according to howlongtobeat.com.
Set in the brutal lands of Conan the Barbarian, this open-world survival game puts players in a rugged landscape full of as much danger as there is opportunity. Gathering resources, building shelters, fighting enemies, and simply trying to stay alive and escape the Exiled Lands are the main gameplay mechanics here, with an added aspect of multiplayer combat.
Purchasing Conan Exiles on PlayStation without the benefit of the PlayStation Plus subscription can cost you $50 for the standard game, or can be downloaded for free with your Extra or Premium subscription. Sadly, the Conan Exiles: Isle of Siptah DLC is not free, but if you like the game enough to want to get it, it's only $20 to add it on.
If You Like Skyrim And Valheim, Try This Out
Massive Survival Game In An Open-World Environment
The open-world survival aspects of Conan Exiles can be reminiscent of some of the gameplay and visual aspects of popular games like Skyrim and Valheim, with the added benefit of giving plenty of familiar nostalgia for fans of Conan the Barbarian. Playing as an exile who has been cast off to fend for themselves can be difficult enough without the added dangers of sandstorms and malicious monsters roaming the land.
Like Valheim, you can choose to form tentative alliances with other players, or fight them to gain their resources and items. Also like Valheim, you can opt to play in a solo world in Conan Exiles if you'd rather not be besieged by other players with their own survival goals in mind. This adds to the flexibility for players to enjoy the game in their own way.
There's no shortage of things to do here, with a constant progression of wanting to craft bigger and better things. So, if you're looking for a massive game to play this spring, and are already a PlayStation Plus subscriber, try giving Conan Exiles a chance. You may be pleasantly surprised.
