Two years ago, the kitchen experts at Ninja launched the Luxe Café – a three-in-one coffee machine that makes espresso, filter coffee, and cold brew all in one. It's a brilliant bean-to-cup coffee maker that grinds to the perfect size, helps guide your tamping, and can even steam milk for you.
When we tested it back in 2024, we were especially impressed by the way it takes the trial and error out of making coffee, handling the trickiest barista tasks for you and helping even first-time users produce a consistently well-extracted brew with a fully rounded flavour.

When preparing an espresso, the machine does the hard work of dialling in the grinder for you, suggesting an appropriate grind size and then funnelling the prepared coffee neatly into the filter basket. A calibrated tamper helps you create a perfectly even bed of coffee, and once the handle is inserted under the brewing group, the Luxe Café will time your shot to make sure it's not extracting too fast or slow.
You can push the steam wand down into your milk jug to use the automatic frothing system, or lift it a few degrees to use it manually, depending on how confident you feel. We found that the auto system worked equally well with dairy milk and plant-based substitutes like oat and almond.
"Overall, the Ninja Luxe Café delivered on its promises of uncomplicating espresso," said our tester Danielle Freeman. "It consistently created quality espresso and made things simpler by intuitively dosing and providing the correct grind level for the perfect pull, something you’d be hard-pressed to find on other semi-automatic espresso machines at this price point."
Ultimately, we gave the Luxe Café an almost perfect four and a half stars out of five. It only missed out on the final half star because of its relatively large footprint (which isn't too surprising since you're getting three coffee machines in one) and the absence of a hot water line for making tea.
