Tom Holland Still Doesn’t “Know Anything About” Christopher Nolan Event Film

It remains unclear what Christopher Nolan has in store for his next event film, and star Tom Holland is certainly keeping tight-lipped.

The MCU star claimed the 2x Oscar-winning director only “loosely pitched” him on the upcoming star-studded project, which is expected to film after the new year, and he still remains in the dark.

“It hasn’t started shooting. To be perfectly honest with you, I don’t know anything about it,” admitted Holland on The Dish podcast. “I’m super excited. Everything is very very hush hush. I met with [Nolan]. It was awesome. He kind of loosely pitched what it was. And I’m sure when he’s ready, he’ll announce what it is.”

In October, Deadline reported that Holland was circling the lead role in Nolan’s new event film, which has also since cast Zendaya, Charlize Theron, Anne Hathaway, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o and Matt Damon.

Holland confirmed the casting later that month on Good Morning America. “When the opportunity came in, it was the phone call of a lifetime. It was reminiscent of getting the call about Spider-Man 10 years ago. It’s an amazing thing for me. I’m super proud and I’m really, really excited,” he said.

“All I can say is that I’m incredibly excited,” added Holland. “And, obviously honored, but that’s all I can say because, to be honest, that’s all I know.”

The film will have an Imax release on July 17, 2026. The date falls in line with a number of Nolan films that have had similar release dates in the past.

The movie is expected to start shooting in early 2025, but sources note that loglines or descriptions of the film that have been published to date are wrong, and details are being kept under wraps.
