Tom Holland Reveals Plans to Have Kids Days Before Zendaya Engagement News
Tom Holland and Zendaya are officially swinging into a new chapter.
The Spider-Man costars—whose onscreen chemistry translated into a real-life relationship—are officially engaged, according to multiple outlets, almost eight years after they first sparked romance rumors and four years after going public with their relationship.
The engagement news also comes after Zendaya—who was nominated at the Golden Globes for her work in Challengers—stepped out onto the Jan. 5 red carpet with an eye-catching, gorgeous diamond ring on that finger. Plus, eagle-eyed fans noticed what appeared to be the 28-year-old’s first tattoo peeking out of her gown: a tiny “t” etched onto her ribs.
Though the couple are notoriously private and protective of their inner world, Tom recently shared some rare insight into their relationship, including the pair’s possible future family plans and what it will mean for his career.
“When I have kids, you will not see me in movies anymore,” he shared in an interview with Men's Health published Jan. 2. “Golf and dad. And I will just disappear off the face of the earth.”
The Marvel star also explained why it is that fans see them walking a red carpet together so infrequently—and it has all to do with making sure the woman he calls “my lady” has her time to shine for her big projects.
“Because it’s not my moment, it’s her moment," he explained. "And if we go together, it’s about us.”

Yet, while both Zendaya and Tom have chosen to keep the more intimate details of their relationship private, they haven’t shied away from gushing over how marvelous it is to work with the other.
As Zendaya told Vanity Fair last year of working with her beloved, “You feel extra safe with the person you’re acting beside. I love working with him.”
It’s a sentiment shared by Tom.
“It’s a saving grace," the 28-year-old gushed on a December episode of The Dish podcast. “It’s just that perfect thing when you’re on set and a director will give you a note that maybe you don’t agree with, or I know that she doesn’t particularly like, and it’s just that, like, familiar glance at each other of like, ‘Can’t wait to talk about that later.’”

As for why the pair keep some things private, they both know that with great love comes great responsibility.
"The equal sentiment [we both share],” Zendaya explained to GQ in 2021, “is just that when you really love and care about somebody, some moments or things, you wish were your own. I think loving someone is a sacred thing and a special thing and something that you want to deal with and go through and experience and enjoy amongst the two people that love each other."
