Since starring as Bane in The Dark Knight Rises more than 10 years ago, Tom Hardy has become one of the biggest action stars in the world. Even two years before that, he worked with Christopher Nolan on the mind-bending sci-fi epic, Inception, and these two movies, back to back, solidified him as an up-and-comer to keep an eye on. Hardy wasted no time moving back to the sci-fi genre in 2015 with his critically acclaimed blockbuster with Charlize Theron, Mad Max: Fury Road, and he’s since starred in a trio of Venom movies that have grossed over $1.5 billion at the box office. Hardy has plenty of famous movie roles, but many would argue that his most notable TV performance is for playing Alfie Solomons in 13 episodes of Peaky Blinders, the hit crime thriller series starring Cillian Murphy.

Hardy’s Alfie Solomons is a constant thorn in the side of Tommy Shelby, and although the two seemingly conclude their business at the end of Season 4 when Tommy delivers Alfie a bullet to the face. It’s later confirmed that this didn’t kill Alfie, though, when he returns with a brutal scar on his face to prove it. Four years after going off the air, Peaky Blinders is finally set to return this weekend with a sequel film, The Immortal Man. With Alfie surviving the events of the Peaky Blinders finale, fans everywhere are questioning if he’ll have a role to play in The Immortal Man. Tragically, it has now been confirmed that Tom Hardy’s Alfie Solomons will not have a role in Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man in any capacity.

What Is ‘Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man’ About?

Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man is a sequel film to the hit series that takes place during World War II. The movie sees Tommy Shelby return to Birmingham for a new mission related to the war, and it features a host of stars making their debut in the franchise for the first time. Sci-fi icon Rebecca Ferguson stars alongside Murphy in the film, and Barry Keoghan has also been tapped to play Tommy’s son, Duke Shelby. Sophie Rundle returns to star as Tommy’s sister, Ada Thorne, and the film was written by Steven Knight and directed by Tom Harper.
