Adam Blevins began working in the entertainment industry in 2022 as a Staff Writer for Agents of Fandom, where he progressed to Senior Editor and interviewed talent from Marvel Studios, House of the Dragon, and Planet of the Apes. He joined Collider as a News Author in April 2024, was promoted to a Senior position in December 2024, and has written over 3,000 articles for the site, including exclusives relating to Avengers: Doomsday, The Penguin, Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, and more. He primarily writes about the latest box office numbers and the hottest movies and TV shows on streaming, while also covering superhero and sci-fi news. He has completed a set visit for The Chosen and even has several months of experience writing Gaming Features at ScreenRant. You can find him on X, LinkedIn, and Muckrack.

Tom Hardy has starred in numerous big projects over the years, but one of his most overlooked hits from earlier in his career is finding a second life on streaming platforms. In 2008, Hardy starred alongside Kelly Adams and Luing Andrews in one of the best true crime dramas ever made, a prison drama/true-crime thriller following a man who was sentenced to seven years in prison, but ended up spending over 30 years in solitary confinement. The fan-favorite movie recently began streaming on HBO Max in the U.S., where the film has quietly climbed into the top 10. It’s also a VOD hit in several countries around the world.

Bronson isn’t thought of as one of Tom Hardy’s best movies, which is perhaps due to its 75% score from critics and 74% score from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes. These aren’t anywhere near the same heights as some of Hardy’s other projects, like Mad Max: Fury Road and The Dark Knight Rises, but they’re also far from the bottom of his career rankings. Nicolas Winding Refn directed Bronson from a script he wrote with Brock Norman Brock. Bronson reportedly cost less than $300,000 to make, but the film grossed over $2 million at the box office.

While it’s been almost 20 years since he played the infamous Charles Bronson, Hardy has stayed booked and busy year after year with some of the biggest action and sci-fi hits ever. He became even more of a sensation thanks to his blockbuster role as Eddie Brock in all three Venom movies, which collectively grossed over $1.5 billion at the global box office. He also starred opposite Cillian Murphy in Peaky Blinders, but he will not return in the upcoming sequel film, The Immortal Man, which comes out in March.

Tom Hardy’s Best Movie Is Coming Back to Theaters

Just last week, it was announced that Tom Hardy’s only Oscar-nominated performance is coming back to theaters soon. In 2015, Hardy starred alongside Leonardo DiCaprio in The Revenant, the neo-Western following a frontiersman on a fur-trading expedition in the 1820s who fights for his life after being mauled by a bear and left for dead by his hunting team. It was recently confirmed that The Revenant will return to theaters exclusively in IMAX during the final week of February to celebrate the film’s 10th anniversary. The film grossed over $500 million at the box office during its initial run.

Watch Bronson on HBO Max in America and stay tuned to Collider for more streaming updates.
