Adam Blevins began working in the entertainment industry in 2022 as a Staff Writer for Agents of Fandom, where he progressed to Senior Editor and interviewed talent from Marvel Studios, House of the Dragon, and Planet of the Apes. He joined Collider as a News Author in April 2024, was promoted to a Senior position in December 2024, and has written over 3,000 articles for the site, including exclusives relating to Avengers: Doomsday, The Penguin, Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, and more. He primarily writes about the latest box office numbers and the hottest movies and TV shows on streaming, while also covering superhero and sci-fi news. He has completed a set visit for The Chosen and even has several months of experience writing Gaming Features at ScreenRant. You can find him on X, LinkedIn, and Muckrack.

Few actors have accrued as iconic a filmography as Tom Hanks, who has worked with legendary directors like Steven Spielberg and Robert Zemeckis on some of the greatest movies ever made. Hanks is a two-time Oscar winner for his performances in Forrest Gump and Philadelphia in back-to-back years, but he’s also received nominations for his performances in Big (1988), Saving Private Ryan (2000), and A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood (2019). He’s even doing the important work of paying it forward to the next generation of great actors, working as a producer on big projects like Apple TV’s Masters of the Air.

Hanks is most certainly at a later stage of his career after starring in movies for the better part of 40 years, but that doesn’t mean he can’t still deliver entertaining movies. In fact, he did just that a few years ago with Greyhound, the straight-to-streaming WWII movie following an inexperienced submarine commander who leads his battalion against a German submarine wolf pack. The film was originally planned as a theatrical release, but it was dumped by the studio and picked up by Apple TV, which saved the film at the eleventh hour. Hanks has expressed mixed opinions about this over the years.

Greyhound has become one of Apple TV’s most popular movies ever, and the streamer has since announced that it’s working on a sequel to the film. News broke this afternoon that Hanks’ Greyhound co-star, Stephen Graham, has signed a deal to return for the WWII sequel. Graham recently won three Emmys for his work writing and starring in Adolescence, the 2025 breakout hit that not-so-quietly became one of the streamer’s top projects in history. Rob Morgan and Elisabeth Shue are also returning for the sequel, which is now in production in Australia, with Robin Hood breakout Jack Patten even joining the ensemble cast.

What Else Is Streaming on Apple TV Right Now?

The most popular movie on Apple TV at the time of writing is F1, the latest blockbuster starring Brad Pitt and directed by Joseph Kosinski. Following behind F1 in the #2 spot on Apple TV streaming charts is The Gorge, the hit sci-fi film starring Anya Taylor-Joy and Miles Teller. Mark Wahlberg’s action sequel, The Family Plan 2, is also a hit on Apple TV right now, along with Fountain of Youth, the new action-adventure thriller from Guy Ritchie.

Be sure to watch Greyhound on Apple TV and stay tuned to Collider for more updates and coverage of Greyhound 2.
