Blue Fox Entertainment has acquired international sales rights to two new Tubi Original feature films — the YA comedy Summer’s Last Resort and the YA horror-comedy Buzzkill.
Blue Fox will be launching international sales on the films at the upcoming European Film Market.
Produced by Blue Ice Pictures for Tubi, both projects are currently in production and slated for future release exclusively on Tubi in the US and Canada.
Summer’s Last Resort is a YA comedy starring Sophia Bush (One Tree Hill), Jerry O’Connell (Billions), and Violet McGraw (M3GAN franchise). Also joining the cast is Tim Rozon (Wynonna Earp). The film recently wrapped production.
The synopsis reads: A high-strung teen’s vacation takes a turn when she’s trapped with her free-spirited mom’s try-hard boyfriend, who also happens to be her vice principal. Determined to end the romance, she hatches a secret breakup plan that spirals into a week of sunburns, sabotage, and unexpected feelings. Summer’s Last Resort is written by Emily Andras (Wynonna Earp) and directed by Melanie Scrofano (Heartland).
Buzzkill is a YA horror comedy starring Siena Agudong (Sidelined: The QB and Me), Brec Bassinger (Final Destination: Bloodlines), and Aliyah’s Interlude (English Teacher). Buzzkill is currently in production.
The film’s synopsis reads: When a group of sorority sisters find themselves trapped with a vengeful killer, party-girl Nora knows that the drunker she gets, the more her tipsy memories start revealing clues about who’s murdering her friends. But she’d better hurry, or her next vodka soda might be her last call. Buzzkill is written by Suzanne Keilly (Slumber Party Massacre) and directed by Jem Garrard (R.L. Stine’s Pumpkinhead).
