If you are looking to get a shining score on today’s Connections puzzle, you will likely need a few clues to do so. There are plenty of rough patches in the puzzle, and I myself am pleasantly surprised I made it through this one. If you need to get a little bit of help, you will find whatever you need here, whether it’s just a nudge with a hint or two, or whether it’s the full spoilers.
If you want a puzzle that will take a bit longer to solve but is more about a series of logic puzzles, you will want to try out The Password Game puzzle. While it is just one daily puzzle, there are fifteen miniature puzzles every day for you to solve. Putting them all together will give you your final answer, but this may be hard for some players to get through. However, once you get a few puzzles down, it will become easier and easier every day as you get the rhythm of the puzzle in your head.
Today's Connections Category Hints
JANUARY 09 #578
This one may require a few hints for you to get right, although this run went a little better for me than the last one. This one had words I was slightly more familiar with, and the purple category felt a bit easier. However, that was mainly due to my familiarity with the subject, which always makes a big difference in each puzzle. That being said, here are four clues to help you get the win as I did.
- One category is about places where people may find themselves bartering
- One category is about words that you give to a specific friend
- One category is about words that you might find at the office
- One category is about four words you would find in a very old song

BOOTH |

TABLE |
This one was fairly obvious to me, mainly because I just came back from a conference and a market not too long ago. I have also considered being a vendor at several types of markets in the past, although I’ve never actually done so. Maybe one day I will have a little TABLE to barter at, but that likely won’t be for a while. It is kind of fun to plan out though, so one day I will have all the plans up and ready to go.
Green Answers: Revealed & Explained
COME |
HEEL |
SIT |
STAY |
This one actually took me a moment to see, but I think the amount of small words was a little overwhelming when I first saw the puzzle. Because of that, I didn’t look much at them until I had a reason to. Then, however, I saw that these were all commands, and it made sense to put them together. Once I processed this category, it was easy, but getting to that point was not as easy. Sometimes it’s all about your mental state going into the puzzle as opposed to your knowledge of the words.

This one I was familiar with and even had most of the words highlighted at one point, but I could not see the word IT in the puzzle even when I was staring right at it. I believe it blended in with the other little words, but I was able to get there in the end which is all that matters. Sometimes that is why it is in your best interests to step away and come back to the puzzle later so that you know what you are looking for and can see it with fresh eyes.
Purple Answers: Revealed & Explained
FROM |

SHINING |
I actually got this one second, which was in part due to seeing SHINING and SEA right next to each other. I had other ideas as well, but I went ahead and guessed the whole phrase just because I thought it might be a possibility. It was amusing to see that I was right, but it was nice to walk away from the puzzle with a win. I’m not sure if I would have done as well if I hadn’t gotten this category up front, but that is not a concern for me today.
