Goodbye Bronzing Drops & Say Hello to Water Tint Bronzers That TikTok is Obsessed WithCourtesy of Victoria Beckham Beauty

Move over bronzing drops, we have a new bronzer texture in town that has everyone on TikTok talking. The Victoria Beckham Colour Wash Bronze Water Tint is the official bronzer of the summer with its innovative water-like texture, effortless blendability, and diffused color payoff. It's perfect for those looking for a clean-girl, sun-kissed look for the summer without spending hours blending.

This viral product is already sold out almost everywhere, and there's virtually nothing else like it on the market. But with everyone talking about it, we're sure it's only a matter of time before other brands come out with their own versions.

Considering the recent trend of blurred lips and watercolor blushes, it's no surprise bronzer would follow a similar trajectory. But what makes it so special? And what makes it different from its bronzing drop counterparts that were literally everywhere a few years ago? We investigated this viral beauty phenomenon below, and found some other water tint products that do a similar job (but no exact shade dupes yet).

What Are Bronze Water Tints?

Bronze water tints are just like lip and blush tints and stains. It features a water-like texture with a deep brown or tanned shade. Usually used with a dropper, these tints are extremely long-lasting and fade throughout the day to a diffused wash of color.

Don't let the dark shade fool you. It might look dark, but the final result is a sheer (yet buildable) color that gives your cheeks and the points of your face a bronzy, natural, sun-kissed look.

What Makes Bronze Water Tints Different From Bronzing Drops?

One of the major differences between the bronze water tints and the bronzing drops is the texture. Bronze water tints have a very watery texture, while the bronzing drops have a thicker, liquid texture. To use skincare terms: think of water tints as essences or toners, and drops as serums.

Other differences between these two bronzing products are where you put them on your face and their glow power. Bronzing drops, for the most part, are applied everywhere on your skin to give a super glowy, just-bronzed look underneath other complexion products. Bronzing water tints, on the other hand, are concentrated with a subtle hydrated sheen, and they're more often used on specific areas of the face, rather than all-over.

How Do You Apply Bronze Water Tints?

There are two ways to apply bronze water tints: either apply dots of the tint directly to your face or dispense the product onto the back of your hand and pick it up with a brush. Then, blend and diffuse the tint with either your fingers or a brush. From there, the specific placement is up to you.

For a precise placement, choose between the hollows of your cheeks, your temples, or your chin. On the other hand, placing the tint in all those areas (a.k.a. the high points of your face) will give you a more sun-kissed look. But if you prefer an all-over warmth, use the product on your entire face.
