A Marvel Rivals player reached 101 kills during a ranked match as Namor, but other players are wondering how the kill count even got that high in the first place. Marvel Rivals fans know that getting 50+ kills in a ranked match is easily obtainable when fights for the point go on longer than usual, but hitting 100+ is almost unheard of.
Reddit user Resident_Economics56 posted their friends' huge milestone, and fans immediately wanted to watch the match that took place in order for this to happen. While Namor is known for having an inflated kill count due to the use of the "Aquatic Dominion" ability, which is further bolstered with a Luna Snow teamup ability, 101 is a shocking number to see in a single match.
Namor Player Gets 101 Kills In A Single Marvel Rivals Match
Those Are Some Angry Octopi
Namor is a force to be reckoned with in Marvel Rivals, especially when teaming up with Luna Snow for the extra octopus turret, also known as "Frozen Spawn." The image in the Reddit post not only shows the player's kill count but shows their teammate's and enemies' counts as well, which are all in the high digits. The Namor player, known as Alganis in the game, did over 48k damage during the match, which is no number to scoff at.

Marvel Rivals Is a Hit, And One of Its Most Unlikely Feuds Shows Why
The widespread success of Marvel Rivals can be largely attributed to its depictions of iconic heroes, and the beef between two characters proves it.
The enemy team, of course, had much lower double-digit kill count numbers, still dishing out some decent damage, but nothing came close to Namor. A friendly neighborhood Spider-Man player decided to chime in as well, claiming that "Namor is bugged" now and does no damage, to stop mains from using him due to his ability to stop backliners such as Spider-Man and Black Panther. There are a few comments explaining how the player managed this extreme count though.

The Numbers On The Board Can Be A Bit Confusing

Taking a look at the numbers and the match myself, there are a few things to consider here. One, the player's "Final Hit" count was 48, which is still higher than anyone in the match but means over half of those kills were not Namor's kills. Second, players need to remember that Namor uses "turrets" in the form of Octopi that are great at doing tick-away damage to backliners, such as the Scarlet Witch on the opposing team in this case, and for shooting anyone in their path. This can greatly affect the kill count, as the "kills" in-game are not just the player's own kills.
While this is no easy feat to accomplish whatsoever, as 101 kills is a huge accomplishment in a single match, knowing how to read the scoreboard at the end is important when looking at things like this. Not to take away from the milestone reached here, but to ensure you don't see that number and feel as though you are not a good player. Marvel Rivals is a marathon, not a sprint, and everyone (regardless of how many) getting kills adds value to the team.
