Aussies love their coffee, but our world-class coffee culture means we can be a bit snobbish about the quality of our brew. And, while I love to indulge in a barista-made takeaway coffee occasionally, I can only afford an almost-AU$10 long black every so often.

Unfortunately, making barista-level java from home does require a good espresso machine, and even at their cheapest, you’re looking at laying out a minimum of AU$500. The sky’s the limit at the top end too – as a case in point, we’ve been relying on Breville's AU$4,599 The Oracle Dual Boiler to keep the Aussie TechRadar team highly caffeinated while we hunt down Black Friday deals.

I'm well aware that, even with the deals above, these machines still aren’t the cheapest; however, if you're a real coffee lover, it’s worth investing in a quality device to ensure you get consistent, high-quality results. And, if you think about it in terms of savings versus buying from your local cafe, one AU$4 coffee every workday adds up to over AU$1,000 a year – so these machines can pay for themselves quite quickly.

That said, if you're looking for something that offers tasty, versatile coffee for a bit less, I've found the deal below for you.
