And three years, two children and an engagement later, the star has revealed how the couple first met

'I was on there for literally two weeks. I met Darren and came straight off. I lucked out, so I said I'm done, and I came off.'

But despite being so sure of Darren, the Bad Boys singer confessed the proposal came as a surprise.

She explained that although she had tried to drop some hints, she didn't think they'd been noticed.

The star said: 'I actually said it on Loose Women maybe a couple of months beforehand.

'I was hinting on TV, and he didn't take that very well, and he didn't have any reaction, so nothing occurred to me that this was going to happen.

'I'm just over the moon that I'm going to marry my best friend.'

And it wasn't just Alexandra who was over the moon, the Hallelujah singer revealed that her children were both pleased as well.

She added that her fiancé had made sure to include them in the sweet proposal.

But despite being so sure of Darren, the Bad Boys singer confessed the proposal came as a surprise

While the performer confirmed she was excited about her upcoming nuptials, she candidly confessed that there would be some sadness as she wouldn't be able to share the moment with her mother Melissa Bell, who tragically passed away in 2017.

But Alexandra said her mother is still with her every day.

And with family life and the star's career, she said she hasn't even started to plan the moment she walks down the aisle and added that she's waiting for the right moment.

'If I'm completely honest, people are quite shocked that I haven't thought about it already.' she confessed.

'I haven't thought about anything because I haven't had a chance to. We're living in our gorgeous little bubble and loving that.

'I just think we'll plan it when the time is right.'

And while planning the wedding might not be top priority, it hasn't stopped the Elephant songstress from planning for more children.

The beauty revealed she is ready for more children but wants to wait until her youngest two are older.

She said: 'I’m ready for more. Give me all the babies.

'Whenever I see a pregnant woman, I say to Darren, “Oh she’s pregnant, I’m so jealous.”

I cannot wait for more children, but I’ve still so many things I want to achieve.

'These kids need to be a lot more independent darling, and I need to run the marathon for my mother, and there’s so much we [Darren] want to do together.

'We’re going to achieve certain things first, and have some fun with these kids, and then let’s go!'

Alexandra also revealed her partner Darren would like four children because the two both grew up in large families but said it' still al up in the air.

'He's desperate for four, and I’m desperate for four,' the singer said.

'I’m one of four, and he’s one of two, and four was amazing growing up, and I’m sure two was as well, because they had each other, but who knows.'

Speaking about her latest TV role, Alexandra admitted she is nervous about the show coming out and hopes people enjoy it.

She said: 'If I'm honest with you, I'm really nervous about it coming out.

'I remember when we did 5 News with Dan [Walker] and I heard someone say, "This is where they start reviewing it," and my heart was in my stomach, because of course people review things, and they have an opinion.

'Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I really hope that it causes healthy conversations in people's households.

'How do we protect women at all costs, and make them feel safer? Curfew is not the answer, and do not lock up men for no reason 7-7.

'Curfew is entertainment – it is a drama. It is wonderful, and it has such fantastic, legendary actors in the show.

And she discounted the idea of moving into the world of soaps, explaining that although she grew up watching EastEnders, she would love to return to Loose Women as a regular

'My character, Helen, is a graceful woman, questionable with her actions at times, but she is only human.

Alexandra added that she thoroughly enjoyed her time on the show and would be thrilled to return to her role.

'I loved doing the show, and if I could turn back time and record the show one more time, I would.' she said.

Asked if she would like to do more TV work, the reality star said she would in a heartbeat.

She told MailOnline: 'To do a thriller (Curfew), and Pretty Red Dress last year, I feel blessed to have these amazing opportunities, but at the same time, whatever comes my way, as long as it feels right in my heart and my gut, that’s what I go for.

'I wouldn’t just go for something for the sake of it, so knows what the universe has to offer.'

Alexandra confessed she would love to bag a role in the Disney fairytale The Princess and the Frog or even star in another Black Panther film.

Despite moving in to TV work, Alexandra is still best known for her X Factor appearance and said that she is still asked about her duet with Beyoncé

Alexandra said said: 'I think I was in an Uber or something, and people bring it up all the time. It’s really lovely because it’s been 16 years. 'I’m so happy I got that moment, and X Factor was a great platform for me.'

She revealed: 'I loved EastEnders when I was growing up.

'I would always consider any role that is offered to me - if it was the right thing I would definitely look into it.

'Personally, I would love to do more action stuff, as I would like to use my fitness to my advantage.

'I love to be in the gym, so the dream is to hopefully play Tiana in Princess and the Frog – the Disney film, and I’d also love one day to be apart of Black Panther – can you imagine?

'God it would be the dream.'

With dramas and the stage behind her, Alexandra confessed she wouldn't be against making a more regular appearance on ITV's Loose Women.

The singer said she would love a more permanent spot that allowed her to be free and open.

She said: 'It’s a privilege every time they ask me to go on, and the ladies are always so gracious and so kind to me.

'If the opportunity ever came about, you never say never. It would be so lovely to just be on a talk show where you can be free, and be yourself.'
