The true cost of Katie Price's latest divorce: Lee Andrews marriage has already cost her £100k but she's plotting her revenge and comeback after dumping him by text

Friends and family are all relieved at Katie Price’s decision to finally call it a day and leave con man Lee Andrews.

It was reported on Tuesday the former glamour model, 48, has called it quits with her husband of eight months after reportedly discovering he had just £2.22 in his account despite claiming to be a millionaire.

One of her oldest and closest friends told her from the very get go not to marry him and, despite many many red flags along the way, Katie stood by him. 

But now finally she’s thrown in the towel and instructed her lawyer to file for divorce. 

Family members feel she’s already been fleeced by Lee for many tens of thousands, but Katie likes to win so won't admit she’s been conned by the Dubai business man – who at one stage even claimed he was going to buy Chelsea football club.

But those close to her know she has lavished him with gifts, and all the trips back and forth to Dubai with the flash hotel stays have cost Katie well in excess of £100,000.

This doesn't even include any money she may or may not have transferred into his business failures. 

Despite many of his ex girlfriends' warnings during their marriage, sadly Katie was stubborn and stuck her heels in to try and make the marriage work. 

Behind closed doors she’s gutted and humiliated, and no doubt a few of her exes will be smiling at the latest development in Katie’s up-and-down love life. 

'She doesn’t like to be alone,' one family member said, 'and no doubt will find another man to be with but for now she’s going to get back to being single (and ready to mingle) and not settle down.

'So be prepared to see her out on the party circuit to put on a show to say to those wanting that she doesn’t care but deep down she will be hurting.'

All her friends and family will be glad she’s finally come to her senses and wish that serial con man Lee sits behind bars for a little longer now that he hasn’t got Katie to bail him out . 

Katie has been divorced three times prior. And in 2019 she demanded her former husbands Peter Andre and Kieran Hayler pay her back for the £2million she claimed she spent on them.

Katie's final message to Lee, 43, on WhatsApp is reported to have said: 'I have been played and you are not who you say you are. Why have you lied to me?'

According to The Sun, he had told Katie he had £37million in a crypto bank account. Lee, who is currently back in a Dubai jail, is thought to be struggling to find the funds to pay the fine for his release. Katie has no plans to see him.

Katie was wearing her wedding ring at Manchester Pride but sources close to the situation said she has 'come to her senses' over Lee.

The insider told the publication: 'It was, of course, an accumulation of many things but the final straw came after Lee had told Katie he had $50million (£37million) in a crypto wallet, and promised her some of the funds.

'He gave her the "recovery phrase" - the passkey - to get into his account, and on Monday she had a financial expert access the wallet - and, to her shock, discovered it contained just $3, or £2.22.

'Lee never had $50million; he doesn't have a bean. The most he ever had on any one day was in March for $14,490 (£10,720) which was sent out the very same day.'

Days after Pride, Katie ditched her ring while enjoying a wild late summer trip to Marbella, partying with pals.

She has travelled to the Spanish party town to let her hair down with a group of friends, including fellow reality star Chloe Ferry, 31.

In a clip reposted from her pal Ryan Mira's Instagram, Katie dances to Promiscuous by Nelly Furtado dressed in a skimpy silver dress.

As Ryan lifts Katie in the air to spin her around, Katie's ringless finger can be seen.   'Sometimes you've got to let your hair down!' Katie captioned the clip.

Katie's marriage to Lee has been tumultuous. Since tying the knot with the controversial business leader following a whirlwind romance, Katie's relationship has been plagued with drama including Lee's prison stints, kidnapping, his various lies and accusations of scamming his exes. 

While Katie has publicly continued to support him, it appears things have taken their toll on her as she declared in a recent Instagram post that she had 'survived' difficult times. 

On Instagram last week, Katie shared a snap of a model reading a newspaper, with the words on the paper reading: 'My side of the story doesn't matter anymore. 

'Life happened, it hurt, I healed, but most importantly, I learned who deserves a seat at my table and who will never sit at it again.'

She then tellingly wrote the words 'I survived' over another quote which stated: 'I will never, ever forget who helped me in difficult times, who put me in difficult times, and who left me in difficult times.'

And while Katie didn't specify who or what she was referring to, her words suggested all was not well in her personal life. 

It is thought Lee remains in jail despite reports he was released last month.

The conman business leader was said to have been released in July following his second spell in Dubai's Al Awir prison after being hit with fraud claims.

Now, it has been claimed Lee was never released, with sources reporting his fellow inmates are 'fed up with his constant lies'.

The Sun alleges Lee has been telling inmates his exit paperwork is 'sorted' each week, but as each new week comes he remains in prison. Katie previously vowed to hold her husband to account for 'hurting other people'. 

In her podcast, Katie said: 'In fact, I'm going to get Ben [the producer of Katie's podcast] to interview him and Ben is going to delve in deep and I want to hear everything and it's too much and I don't like people hurting people.

'That's all I'm saying on it, I've not put anything up online, so you've heard it here for the first time.'

The Daily Mail reached out to Katie's reps who declined to comment.
