Rock musician and songwriter Todd Rundgren made headlines when he claimed that Taylor Swift 'ruined music.'

In the ultimate putdown, he declared: 'Swift doesn’t do anything particularly great except grow hair. She’s not a great singer. She’s not a great songwriter. She’s not a great dancer.'

Rundgren doubled down by calling the Life of a Showgirl hitmaker 'the apotheosis of mediocrity' in an interview with Vulture.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, 78, has been writing and performing since signing his first record deal with Atlantic Records in 1968.

He formed the 60s psychedelic band Nazz and the 70s progressive rock group Utopia and also had hits with his solo career. Among his producing credits is Meat Loaf's iconic Bat Out of Hell album.
