The Golden Bachelorette starring Joan Vassos had some phenomenal men whom everyone fell in love with, but none of them should be the star of The Golden Bachelor because the show should cast an unknown in the role. Joan began her season with 24 amazing men, and has now narrowed them down to just two: Chock Chapple and Guy Gansert. Along the way, viewers met fan-favorite men such as Mark Anderson, Pascal Ibgui, Jordan Heller, Jonathan Rone, Keith Gordon, Dan Roemer, Gary Levingston, Jack Lencioni, and Charles Ling, hoping that any one of them might be the star of The Golden Bachelor season 2.

The Golden Bachelor season 1 premiered in September 2023, and starred Gerry Turner. He proposed to Theresa Nist at the end of the season, and they were married shortly after in a live, televised event called the Golden Wedding. Unfortunately, they announced their divorce just three months later, stating that they couldn't decide where to live because neither one of them wanted to leave their family. As the search for the star of The Golden Bachelor season 2 begins, the producers should cast another unknown in the role, rather than one of Joan's suitors.

The Golden Bachelorette Men Might Get Overexposed

Fans Might Get Tired Of Seeing Them

After The Golden Bachelor, it seemed as though the Golden women were everywhere. They appeared at the Golden Wedding, on Joey Graziadei's Bachelor season, Celebrity Family Feud, and in the audience of Dancing With The Stars season 33. In addition, fan favorites Susan Noles and Kathy Swarts were named the hosts of a new podcast called Bachelor Happy Hour: Golden Hour. Although they're beloved Bachelor Nation stars, they began to face a bit of backlash when some fans became tired of seeing them.

Reality TV is more popular than ever. With so many to choose from, here are some of the best reality TV shows to stream or watch right now.

Right now, Joan's Golden Bachelorette contestants have had just the right amount of exposure. They're cute, charismatic, and fun to watch, but too much of a good thing could ruin it. Fans have had just enough of each of the Golden Bachelorette men to keep them wanting more. A full season starring any of them could spoil that, especially if the runner-up, who will either be Chock or Guy, is cast.

The Golden Bachelor Needs A Completely New Story

Bachelor Nation Already Knows The Golden Bachelorette Men

When The Golden Bachelor season 1 premiered, it was the first time in a long time that a completely new person was cast as a Bachelor franchise show lead. Almost all of the leads in recent years have been contestants from other seasons, except for The Bachelor season 25 star Matt James, who was known for being Bachelorette Hannah Brown's suitor Tyler Cameron's best friend. Fans were intrigued by The Golden Bachelor's Gerry's story because they didn't know anything about him beforehand.

If Golden Bachelor In Paradise Happens It Will Be The Worst Thing For The Bachelor Franchise (The Show Is Already Struggling)

Many Bachelor Nation fans have been hoping for the Golden Bachelor in Paradise spin-off, but they should be careful what they wish for.

The Golden Bachelorette men's stories have already been told. They have made people laugh and cry, but there isn't much left to know about many of the fan-favorite contestants. In fact, one of The Golden Bachelor season 2 lead frontrunners, Mark Anderson, began his story on Joey's Bachelor season because he's Joey's fiancée Kelsey's father. Fans have followed his journey through two series now, and perhaps it's time to move on to someone else.

If the producers do want to cast someone from Joan's Golden Bachelorette season, they'd be better off staying away from the fan favorites, and giving someone such as Christopher Stallworth, Charles King, Gregg Lassen, Bob Kilroy, Michael Stevens, or Kim Buike, all of whom left the show relatively, early a chance. However, they'll most likely choose someone with a much larger fan base who was on the show longer.

Although casting an unknown could be risky, as evidenced by how Gerry was misrepresented as a widower who hadn't dated much before The Golden Bachelor (he allegedly had a girlfriend of about three years before the show), it would also be much more exciting. It would also give another senior man the chance to shine. Joan's Golden Bachelorette suitors are all wonderful, but casting an unknown as the next Golden Bachelor would be truly golden.

The Golden Bachelor is available to stream on Hulu.

The Golden Bachelorette finale airs Wednesday, November 13 at 8 p.m. EST on ABC.
