Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man is set to introduce a new version of Spider-Man to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), but a brief moment in the trailer hints that this could be one of the most powerful versions of the hero yet. As the MCU expands its TV and animated offerings, it's exciting to see versions of familiar heroes appearing in alternative settings. One of the first MCU TV shows, Marvel's What If...? already provides a set of variable stories that out the heroes into odd settings, but Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man is set to do something different with a new version of the Web Slinger for younger audiences.
And while some actors are set to reprise their roles as the voices for these animated characters, including Charlie Cox and Vincent D'Onofrio who will voice Daredevil and Kingpin respectively, the version of Peter Parker is distinctly different. The show was initially expected to be an origin story for Tom Holland's Peter Parker, but considering the appearance of villains who were first meeting Holland's Spider-Man in Spider-Man: No Way Home, the story will feature a clearly distinct timeline in the MCU. But, this version of the hero could already be setting up as one of the most powerful versions to date.
Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man's Brick Scene Shows Peter's Incredible Strength
Peter Parker Has Incredible Strength And Control
While the teaser for Marvel's upcoming Disney+ projects throughout late 2024 and 2025 provides a very small glimpse at the new stories, there is one quick scene featuring Spider-Man that suggests he is incredibly powerful, and has a lot of self-control already, despite his recent transformation. While fighting a young rival, Spidey is able to grab a brick from above, and use his web to pull the brick quickly towards the head of his enemy. This knocks out his opponent, but does not appear to do more significant damage.

Marvel Reveals the Spider-Man Origin the MCU Skipped in Prequel to Upcoming Disney+ Show
A prequel comic to the upcoming Disney+ animated series, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, reveals Peter Parker's earliest days as a hero.
At the same time, Spidey does not seem to be overly worried about any serious harm being done. But, Peter Parker is not a murderer, and he is not a ruthless vigilante. He doesn't set out to injure and maim his enemies, instead choosing to halt them in their tracks and wrap them up in a web ready for the police to collect them later. So, the fact that he can pull a brick at someone's head and be confident the force applied was just enough to knock them out, without leaving them more injured, hints at his incredible self-control over his powers.
This Reaffirms Spider-Man Should Be Considered One Of The Strongest Heroes In The MCU
The MCU's Spider-Man Is Incredibly Powerful
While it's easy to forget that the teenage superhero has strength that can easily overpower incredibly experienced fighters like the Winter Soldier, the fact remains that he is one of the most powerful heroes in the MCU. Yes, his skills are less refined, and he has plenty to learn before he can take on world-class villains like Thanos without back-up, but his strength, his self-restraint, his spidey-senses, and all the rest make him one of the most formidable figures in the entire superhero universe.
While fighting heroes like Captain America, Peter was on the back foot, because these legendary heroes had decades of experience, and literally fought in wars. Meanwhile, Peter is just a kid from Queens who got bit by a radioactive spider. His powers and confidence in those powers continue to grow with every new challenge, and as he gains that valuable experience in the field, he stands to be one of the most powerful heroes of all time. And Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man is set to provide a whole new angle to watch those powers grow and expand as Peter grows into his newfound gifts.
Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man is a 2D-animated series that retells Peter Parker's early years and pays homage to the character's original comics. Although Marvel Studios produces it, the show does not occur in the same MCU continuity as Tom Holland's live-action Peter Parker. Charlie Cox and Vincent D'Onofrio reprise their roles as Daredevil and Kingpin.
