In exactly one month at the time of writing, the final season of the hit fantasy series Outlander will premiere on Starz. Following the "biggest season yet," according to executive producer Maril Davis, the final eighth season is sure to be unmissable as this epic saga comes to a ten-episode climax. The last outing features an eye-catching line-up full of fan-favorite faces, including Caitríona Balfe as Claire Fraser, Sam Heughan as Jamie Fraser, Sophie Skelton as Brianna MacKenzie, Richard Rankin as Roger MacKenzie, John Bell as Young Ian Murray, David Berry as Lord John Grey, and more.

Ahead of the final season, which premieres on March 6 with the episode "Soul of a Rebel," fans are understandably heading back to where it all began as they remind themselves of the journey so far. At the time of writing, Outlander has quietly rejoined the streaming charts, placing as one of the ten most-streamed series on Starz in the U.S. The fantasy adaptation of Diana Gabaldon's novels joins the likes of BMF, The Nowhere Man, and the chart-topping Spartacus: House of Ashur in the current top ten. A synopsis for Season 8 of Outlander reads:

"As Season Eight begins, Jamie and Claire soon find the war has followed them home to Fraser's Ridge, now a thriving settlement that has grown and flourished in their absence. With new arrivals and changes made during their years away, the Frasers are confronted with the question of what they are willing to sacrifice for the place they call home and, more importantly, what they would sacrifice to stay together. While the Frasers keep a united front against outside intruders, family secrets finally coming to light threaten to tear them apart from the inside. Although they've left the war for America's freedom behind, their fight for Fraser's Ridge has only just begun."

Even the Cast Doesn't Know How 'Outlander' Will End

Fans aren't the only ones in the dark about how this time-spanning tale will finally end, with Heughan admitting in a January interview that even the cast have been out of the loop. "We don't really know how it ends," Heughan admitted, adding, "We kind of know, but we shall see in the edit ourselves." This would certainly suggest that, whatever it is, it is shocking enough to keep hidden from even those closest to it.
