The Golden Bachelorette
star Joan Vassos revealed that a long-distance relationship isn't a deal-breaker for her.
In an interview with Parade, Joan shared that she's open to a long-distance relationship after The Golden Bachelorette ends. The Golden Bachelor's Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist announced their divorce just three months after the Golden Wedding, stating that they couldn't decide where to live because neither of them wanted to leave their family. Before her journey began, Joan stated that she would never leave her family either.
However, Joan would consider a long-distance relationship because it "could be positive and really fun." She shared, "I obviously have my life in Maryland, and I’m not leaving it. I have children and grandchildren and a mother [Mary, 92] and mother-in-law who rely on me, and I would never leave them and I kind of feel like a [man] should be the same way. I’m hoping that he would have ties to his community and his family and his friends that he wouldn’t want to leave."
Therefore, Joan thinks that a long-term relationship could be the solution to this problem. She explained, "At this age, when you’re kind of in the retirement years, or getting close to them, it’s a little bit easier so as long as you have the time and the resources, you make it happen."
Joan added, "You can fly to wherever they are. And it can even kind of be on the fun side. If I had something really fun happening in Rockville [Maryland], where I live, come and spend a couple weeks with me. And if you have something great going on where you are, then I’ll come to you."

What Joan Vassos Possibly Being In Long-Distance Relationship Means
Neither Chock Nor Guy Lives Near Joan
Although it's impossible to tell if Joan chose Chock or Guy from her comments because they both live a considerable distance from her, her statement that she thinks that a long-distance relationship could work is a good sign that she does choose one of them in the end. With Chock in Wichita and Guy in Reno, neither one of them lives close to Joan, but maybe one of them would relocate for her. However, it's good that Joan accepts that they might not want to move away from their families and friends either.

Reality TV is more popular than ever. With so many to choose from, here are some of the best reality TV shows to stream or watch right now.
Joan loves her family, including her four adult children, her three grandchildren who call her JoJo, and her mother and mother-in-law (who's the mother of her husband of 32 years, John, who passed away due to pancreatic cancer in 2021). She's unwilling to leave them permanently for anyone. In fact, she even gave up her Golden Bachelor experience with Gerry to return home to her family when they needed her. However, perhaps Joan is now in a long-distance relationship with either Chock or Guy.
Our Take On Joan Vassos Being Open To Long-Distance Relationship
Joan Has Always Followed Both Her Heart & Her Head
It's good to see that Joan is open to being in a long-distance relationship. This will make her final choice more realistic, as both Joan and either Chock or Guy will know exactly what the expectations are as they move forward with their relationship. Gerry and Theresa followed their hearts, but they didn't think logically about their marriage. However, Joan went into The Golden Bachelorette with a more sensible approach towards the situation.
