The Golden Bachelorette stars Joan Vassos and Chock Chapple are reaching for the stars, and if they skip the wedding, I believe that their love will live forever. Being legally married will put more pressure on the couple. At this stage in life, a wedding really isn't necessary. These two have lived, loved and lost, and both know that a piece of paper isn't what it's all about. It's about the love inside two people.

If they really care, their bond will be like steel, with or without wedding rings.

Chock seemed to shy away from marrying his late fiancée Kathy Goree, who tragically died of brain cancer. He misses Kathy, and Joan will always mourn the loss of her husband, John Vassos, who passed away due to pancreatic cancer. On John's birthday, November 27, Joan took to TikTok to share her feelings. On that day, she felt "weird." Statistics show that second marriages are more likely to fail. Instead of caving into the pressure to wed, they should just live... enjoying every moment as much as they possibly can.

Without A Wedding, They Can Choose Each Other Every Day

I think you're the same as me

We see things they'll never see

You and I are gonna live forever - Live Forever (Oasis)

Joan is currently ecstatic because she's found love, but even in the sunniest phase of this elegant and gentle woman's life, there are dark moments when the sun disappears and, as Liam Gallagher sings in the Oasis tune, Live Forever, the "morning rain soaks you to the bone." In the post above, she said that, before she chose Chock, her future was a "black hole." It's wonderful that that sense of despair has melted away.

She's found something precious that she needs to protect, which soothes her as she lives with grief. Chock makes her feel alive. If they tie the knot, maybe the stardust will melt away too. Maybe the spell will be broken.

To make her love with Chock last, Joan should consider being a fiancée forever. Chock was engaged to his late ex for nine years, so he's clearly comfortable with that type of arrangement. Maybe she will be too. At their ages, if they're in love, maybe that's enough. Since they've both built lives of their own with their own two hands, and the roots of their respective "gardens" are buried so deep, a permanent engagement could help them to keep their love alive.

The odds of a second wedding ending in divorce are 60 percent, as per Good Housekeeping. Since they're in their golden years, why should they enter into a legal bond that might lead to a divorce? If they don't marry, and continue maintaining separate residences in Maryland and Kansas, it will give them space. It'll also make a breakup easier, without the usual legal hassles.

Occasionally, they can each do their own thing, but spend most of their time together. What each one has created can be maintained, with breaks that give them each some breathing room. This dynamic might actually be more romantic. It's not as monotonous as day-in-day-out life with a spouse.

Joan and Chock may have found a love nest in Soho, New York City, where the lovebirds can enjoy one of the world's most vibrant and alluring cities. They can roam or cuddle up. For Joan and Chock, New York offers endless possibilities, and in some ways, an engagement versus a marriage is just the same. There's a little sliver of uncertainty that might give life a bit more sizzler. This could possibly make their relationship less predictable.

Joan & Chock Should Keep It Freewheeling With An Endless Engagement

Marriage May Not Be The Answer

Even people in their golden years need excitement. Marriage is supposed to be a strong emotional safety net for both people, but it seems like Joan and Chock already feel safe together. Maybe what they really need is fun and freedom.

Without marriage, their love can evolve in a natural way, instead of being forced into a "wedlock" mode.

For love to live forever, it has to be more than a piece of paper. Even a golden ring can be meaningless if there's no love behind it - then, it's just a bit of jewelry. What's important is how much love there is and how it can be nurtured. Some people want a lot of closeness - that's how they stay in love. However, others (and the duo seem to fit this category, since Joan and Chock don't plan to marry right away) want different things. They want variety, change, a little taste of the unknown.

At my stage of life, the idea of marriage doesn't have a lot of appeal, but love is always welcome... love is always treasured. So, I think Joan and Chock are on the right track. They should keep postponing their wedding forever. They plan to divide their time between three different locations, and they should focus on having a good time wherever they happen to be. The rest will take care of itself. I think this couple has very strong compatibility, and I'm personally hoping that their love lives forever... aren't you?
