A cinematic obsessive with the filmic palate of a starving raccoon, Rob London will watch pretty much anything once. With a mind like a steel trap, he's an endless fount of movie and TV trivia, borne from a misspent youth of watching monster movies on TV, perusing the sun-faded goods at the local video rental shop, and staining his fingers with ink from the Video Movie Guide. Areas of interest include science fiction, film noir, horror flicks, '70s disaster pictures, Bond movies, '90s action, giant robots, dinosaurs, super heroes, and the exuberantly schlocky output of Cannon Films. He also enjoys both Star Trek and Star Wars when they're good, and maybe even more when they're bad. As a Canadian, he also has a vested interest in Canadian movies and TV shows, especially the cheesier ones dubbed "Canuxploitation."

An expert on Marvel Comics, he has also written for the Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe, and is a member of the Marvel Research Team. He can frequently be found pontificating on comic-book continuity or bemoaning the misfortunes of the Toronto Maple Leafs on his Twitter account.

Yesterday, Reacher fans got good news: the Prime Video thriller series, which just concluded its fourth season and is filming its fifth, has been renewed for a sixth season. However, that left the fate of the show's first spin-off, which premiered right after the end of Reacher Season 4, hanging in the balance. Will it continue to expand the bone-crunching franchise?

Neagley revolves around Frances Neagley (Maria Sten), an associate of Jack Reacher (Alan Ritchson) who turned up to aid her friend's investigations in the first three seasons of his series; like Reacher, she too derives from Lee Child's Reacher novels, although her literary counterpart has yet to have a solo outing of her own. Unlike the nomadic Reacher, Neagley has a permanent home base in Chicago, where she works as a private investigator. She also has a fierce aversion to human contact, which can be an obstacle in her personal and professional lives.

Now, we know that Neagley will soon be on another case. The series has officially been renewed for a second season after an impressive debut on the streaming service, despite an unusual release strategy; unlike Reacher, which is typically released on a weekly basis, all eight episodes of Neagley were released in a "binge-watch" drop. The series was a ratings success, with 40 million views in its first 13 days of release. That's enough to make it the 4th-highest series debut in Prime Video history.

What Happened on Season 1 of 'Neagley'?

After a "cold open" to the series that saw Neagley assist a visiting Reacher with his latest case, she's then informed that a childhood friend of hers has died mysteriously. She soon learns that the dead man was a member of a sketchy New Age cult led by Lawrence Cole (Damon Herriman, Justified). Teaming up with her assistant, Renee Birdwhistle (Adeline Rudolph, Mortal Kombat II), Chicago detective Hudson Riley (Greyston Holt, The Night Agent), and petty criminal Keno (Jasper Jones, King Ivory), she eventually discovers that Cole's cult has some sinister corporate backing. Meanwhile, Neagley delves into her own past, with the reluctant assistance of her terminally ill father, Calvin (Tyrone Benskin, 300).

Neagley has been renewed for Season 2 on Prime Video. Stay tuned to Collider for future updates.
