Netflix releases new movies and shows every weekend, meaning it’s easy for some new releases to get lost in the shuffle. One release from the last few weeks that hasn’t been swept under the rug is Finding Her Edge, the new ice-skating drama starring Madelyn Keys and Harmon Walsh. Fresh off the success of HBO’s Heated Rivalry, a much different show that’s also set on the ice, Netflix released all episodes of Finding Her Edge on January 22, and the show has been a force on streaming charts. It’s been in the top five for a few weeks now with no signs of slowing down.
Less than a month removed from its premiere, Netflix has made a massive decision regarding the future of Finding Her Edge. The streamer has officially announced that Finding Her Edge has been renewed for Season 2, though it’s unclear at this time when it will begin production or be released. Showrunner Jeff Norton shared a quote on the series renewal, promising that fans of the show’s love triangles will be even more pleased heading into Season 2:
“I set out to make a show about love, featuring characters navigating a particularly difficult path in their lives and in their sport. It’s a true gift to be able to work with such a talented cast to extend these characters’ journeys in Season 2, with the support of Netflix and WildBrain. I’m certain fans will be delighted as we delve deeper into the two love triangles that anchor our show — the romantic one and the familial one. There’s plenty of drama to come both on and off the ice.”
Shelley Scarrow serves as the head writer on Finding Her Edge, and the show is based on the book of the same name by Jennifer Iacopelli.
What Else Is Streaming on Netflix Right Now?
The most popular show on Netflix right now is Bridgerton, which raced to the #1 spot following the premiere of its controversial fourth season. To reach the pinnacle of the streaming charts, Bridgerton had to dethrone Jon Bernthal and Tessa Thompson’s new thriller series, His & Hers, which proved to be no problem. The most popular movie on Netflix right now is still The Rip, the new Miami-set crime thriller starring Ben Affleck and Matt Damon.
Be sure to watch the first season of Finding Her Edge on Netflix and stay tuned to Collider for more updates and coverage of the second season.
