The Devil Wears Prada fans were treated to an surprise reunion during Sunday's Oscars, as Anna Wintour and Anne Hathaway took to the stage together ahead of the long-awaited sequel in May.
The legendary Vogue editor, 76, was thought to be the inspiration for Meryl Streep's icy Miranda Priestley in the 2008 film, so it was a welcome treat for fans to see her take to the stage with the film's star Anna Hathaway.
Strutting onto the stage to present Best Costume Design, Anna delivered a nod to her on-screen alter-ego by calling Anne 'Emily,' the character of Miranda's long-suffering assistant played by Emily Blunt in the film.
While the pair's exchange was brief, fans praised the reunion as being the funniest moment of the night, with some praising Anna for having better comedic skills than the show's host Conan O'Brien.
After the pair made their entrance to the Madonna hit Vogue, Anne began: 'Whether it’s two distinct jewel-toned hats, a meticulously crafted headdress, a simple pair of semi-rimless eyeglasses, complex and dramatic pieces that bring to life a Gothic classic, or watching red turn rust in 16th century England, a character’s costume is key to telling a story.'
Nervously turning to Anna, the Oscar winner continued: 'One could argue that one’s wardrobe in real life is also key.

'Does it make one appear elegant and attractive on, say, the most important night in Hollywood, and say when the most important people in fashion will be judging how one looks?'
Playing the part of her character's awkward alter-ego, Anne meekly asked Anna: 'Anna, just curious, what do you think of my dress tonight?”'
Anne icily turned to the camera and began reading the nominations, leaving the audience in hysterics.
As the pair went on to present the Makeup and Hair award, Anne asked: 'Anna, would you like to read out the nominees?'
Putting on her famous sunglasses, Anna quipped: 'Thank you Emily.'
Fans also praised Anna's appearance, writing: 'Anna Wintour has been funnier than Conan O'Brien has so far;
'The real life Miranda Priestley and Andy Sachs on the Oscar stage together, nobody was ready for this;
'The Devil Wears Prada Energy on that stage was unmatched. ''Thank you Emily'' was a perfect wink to the fans;
'Anna Hathaway and Anna Wintour walking the Oscars stage together is the most powerful 14 seconds in fashion history. The Devil Wears Prada never really ended;
'Miranda Priestley and Andy Sachs are back together and this time it's the Oscars.'
Anna and Anne's reunion came ahead of the long-awaited Devil Wears Prada sequel, which hits cinemas on May 1.

The 98th Academy Awards are celebrating the best films of 2025, with the glitzy ceremony taking place at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.
Ryan Coogler's Sinners leads the pack with a record-breaking 16 nominations, the most for any film in Academy Awards history.
The horror flick is one of the ten films up for Best Picture alongside Bugonia, F1, Frankenstein, Hamnet, Marty Supreme, One Battle After Another, The Secret Agent, Sentimental Value and Train Dreams.
Sinners star Michael B. Jordan faces a stacked Best Actor category, competing against fellow nominees Timothee Chalamet (Marty Supreme), Leonardo DiCaprio (One Battle After Another), Ethan Hawke (Blue Moon), and Wagner Moura (The Secret Agent).
Set in 1930s Mississippi, Sinners follows twin brothers (both played by Jordan) who return to their hometown only to face a supernatural evil.
The Best Actor race is currently a dead heat. While Chalamet dominated the early season with wins at the Golden Globes and Critics' Choice Awards, the momentum shifted after Jordan won at the Actor Awards, formerly known as the SAG Awards.
