Oh, biscuits! Fans aren't happy about The Bluey Movie's big change.
The Bluey franchise was created by Joe Brumm and produced by Brisbane's Ludo Studio, with the series premiering on ABC Kids in 2018. The characters and stories were inspired by Brumm's experience raising his own daughters and his childhood dogs. The animated series follows six-year-old Blue Heeler puppy Bluey, her sister Bingo, and her parents, Bandit and Chilli. Since its debut, Bluey has achieved monumental success worldwide, with multiple award wins and now a feature-length movie.
The Bluey Movie's new teaser debuted during D23, where ScreenRant was in attendance, and once it was shared online, the entire fandom made their feelings clear. The animation style for the upcoming movie has shifted to 3D rather than the 2D style used in the record-breaking Bluey series. Fans shared their concerns across social media, with some strongly opposed to the change and others embracing what may come with the feature-length movie.
One fan stated, "This is going down as one of the most inexplicably dumb creative decisions in animation history. Bluey’s animation is timeless and gorgeous. You’ve ruined something that’s perfect as it was."
