Quinton Aaron, best known for his portrayal of NFL star Michael Oher in 2009's The Blind Side, is reportedly fighting for his life in the hospital after taking a serious fall at his home.
According to TMZ, a manager for Aaron confirmed that the actor has been hospitalized following a collapse three days ago. He was reportedly climbing the stairs in his apartment when his legs suddenly stopped functioning.
The manager said that Aaron is in a stable condition and is communicating with his family and team. Doctors are running tests as the cause of the actor's fall remains unknown. TMZ also reveals that this is not the first time the 41-year-old has been in the hospital. In March 2025, he stayed in a California hospital after coughing up blood. The outlet claims that doctors diagnosed him with Type A flu and pneumonia.
The Veterans Aid Network has started a GoFundMe campaign for the actor, asking for funds to help the actor "fight for his life." It also states that "Quinton is currently hospitalized and on life support due to a severe blood infection."
According to the campaign, the health scare was sudden, and his family is facing an immense emotional and financial burden. "When someone is this critically ill, life doesn't pause. Bills don't stop. Expenses continue to pile up," the post reads. "No family should have to choose between focusing on their loved one's survival and worrying about how they will make it through financially."
Aaron showed off a 200 lbs weight loss on Instagram in October 2025. Alongside several images, he posted, "I am overwhelmed and blessed to announce that I have reached another cool milestone in my life. Today, when weighing myself, I noticed that I reached the 200-pound marker." He said he would reach his target weight by shedding a further 55 lbs.
Quinton Aaron stars alongside Sandra Bullock in the 2009 Oscar-nominated movie, an adaptation of Michael Lewis' book. Bullock won an Oscar for her portrayal of Leigh Anne Tuohy, Oher's adoptive mother. The Independent reported that the real Michael Oher claims he never received any money from The Blind Side. However, Tuohy refuted that allegation, saying that profits from the movie were evenly split between the family members.
