We perform extensive hands-on testing and research to determine the best touchscreen laptops in 2026. Models are evaluated on performance, display, price, and overall user experience. It was pretty difficult to decide which deserved the top spot.

Asus' ExpertBook Ultra is an awesome laptop for its top-tier performance and lightweight design. To this day, the Lenovo Yoga Slim 9i has one of the best screens I've ever seen. However, I have to give it to the new Samsung Galaxy Book6 Ultra for its high-quality screen, sleek design, and powerful hardware. It's also one of the new entries to this list.

As great as the Galaxy Book6 Ultra may be, it's not the only option out there. Below, we break down our top touchscreen laptop picks for 2026.

Best touchscreen laptops in 2026

Why like it: Taking the top spot of the list is Samsung's new Galaxy Book6 Ultra. It builds on everything that made the previous model great while elevating the series' performance and battery longevity. The laptop operates on Intel's new Panther Lake processor, 32GB of RAM, and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 GPU, ensuring strong everyday performance. Apps launch instantly, multitasking feels effortless, and even resource-intensive workloads are handled gracefully.

Above the keyboard is a vibrant 3K OLED screen that runs at 120Hz, making everything from spreadsheet scrolling to video playback feel smooth. Battery life is excellent as well. During testing, it lasted nearly 20 hours in real use. And fast charging support means you rarely have to hunt for an outlet.

Who it's for: This laptop is ideal for content creators who want a top-performing machine for their projects. The hardware is outstanding, and one of the best I've seen in a while. In a lot of ways, it's very similar to a MacBook Pro. I would also recommend the Galaxy Book6 Ultra to professionals who want a laptop with a large, high-quality display with a lightweight chassis.

Who should look elsewhere: I did have a few issues with it. I'm not a fan of the keyboard. I found it fatiguing after hours of typing. In addition, under sustained, heavy workloads, the Galaxy Book6 Ultra can get pretty warm to the touch.

At the time of writing, the Samsung Galaxy Book6 Ultra is not yet available for purchase. I received my review unit ahead of time. A Samsung rep told me the laptop is set to launch in early Spring. In the meantime, you can sign up for notifications to be notified when the device launches.

Why we like it: Asus' Expertbook Ultra is one of those laptops that immediately felt special the moment I picked it up. At 2.18 pounds and less than an inch thick, it was shocking how light it felt during daily use, yet it never came across as fragile. The laptop's lightweight nature is thanks to its magnesium alloy chassis. Its body is covered in a ceramic coating to protect it from scratches.

Performance is equally impressive. My review unit handled everything I threw at it effortlessly. Multitasking felt smooth, apps launched instantly, and even light content creation went off without a hitch. What really seals the deal is battery life. I consistently got over 16 hours of battery life on a single charge.

Who it's for: This laptop is a good choice for professionals who value mobility just as much as performance. If you're constantly traveling or moving between meetings and want something that feels almost weightless without skimping on battery life, the ExpertBook Ultra fits the bill. It's also a great choice for writers, sporting a satisfying keyboard that's comfortable for long typing sessions.

Who should look elsewhere: Like the previous entry, the Asus ExpertBook Ultra is not available for purchase yet. The laptop is slated to launch in April 2026. In the meantime, you can sign up for notifications that let you know when it's available.

We don't know how much it'll cost. However, based on comparable competitors, the ExpertBook could land around the $2,400 mark, putting it firmly in the premium territory. Additionally, while performance is excellent for productivity, this isn't a machine for demanding tasks.

Why we like it: What instantly drew me to the Yoga Slim 9i was its stunning, 14-inch 4K OLED touchscreen. It is one of the best displays I've seen on a touchscreen. Features like its neat edge-to-edge panel, 120Hz refresh rate, and Dolby Atmos support make everything it displays vibrant and high-contrast. The laptop even boasts a sleek form factor, weighing just 2.76 pounds. It is a premium design that feels as good as it looks.

Performance is top-notch, as the laptop handles dozens of Chrome tabs and multiple 4K livestreams without breaking a sweat. The keyboard feels great, and its solid 13-hour battery life rounds out the experience.

Who it's for: I recommend the 10th-Gen Yoga Slim 9i to anyone who prioritizes a high-quality display, like creative professionals, video editors, or people who like watching movies in 4K resolution. Similarly, people searching for a portable laptop with a stylish design will find a lot to like about this model.

Who should look elsewhere: Office professionals may be impressed with how well the Yoga Slim 9i performs and looks; however, be aware that the laptop has a poor-quality webcam. On paper, a 32MP lens sounds pretty good. And it is; however, it still has subpar image quality due to its location. Lenovo placed the camera underneath the screen. As a result, video calls look muddy.

Why we like it: The Dell Inspiron 14 2-in-1 is a jack-of-all-trades machine. Its AMD Ryzen 7 processor delivers solid performance, allowing it to multitask and handle creative workloads with ease. Like other 2-in-1 models, Dell's machine can transform into a tablet. The responsive touchscreen makes switching from document writing to sketching a breeze.

If you read our review on the Inspiron 14, you'll learn that the speaker system is quite impressive. It supports Dolby Atmos, adding a surprising amount of depth and clarity to media. I was also impressed by how cool the laptop stayed during use, despite its downward-facing vents. That thermal efficiency really matters because it means you can comfortably use the Inspiron 14 on your laptop, which is something many laptops with more power hardware struggle to manage.

Battery life is decent, although nothing outstanding at eight hours.

Why we like it: The LG Gram 17 is a laptop of contradictions, but in a good way. It is a large computer with a 17-inch display, yet it weighs only 3.2 pounds. That's lighter than some small laptops. Don't let its slim figure fool you, as the device packs some serious muscle. Under the hood is an Intel Core Ultra 7 258V chipset, 32GB of RAM, and a 1TB SSD. And the battery life is good too. A single charge allows the LG Gram 17 to last up to 10 hours. That runtime may not seem like a lot, but on a laptop like this, it's an impressive number.

A downside with ultrathin laptops is that they can run hot. Their design doesn't allow for proper heat dispersion. However, that's not the case here. In his review, ZDNET Editor Kyle Kucharski noted that the Lunar Lake chipset is energy-efficient, helping the laptop stay consistently cool.

Who it's for: LG's 2025 Gram 17 model is the perfect pick for creative professionals who want a big, spacious display but can't be tethered to a desk. It hits the sweet spot for users who value large screen real estate. Even if you're not a content creator, I still recommend this laptop. Its low-weight design enables easy commuting and provides top-tier performance.

Who should look elsewhere: There aren't many issues with the LG Gram 17, although there are a few. We've praised the device's svelte design, but its build quality is another question. Kucharski said in his review that the screen is rather wobbly, and "the black matte finish attracts fingerprints". While the internal hardware is strong, certain users might find the more expensive LG Gram Pro 17 better thanks to its more powerful graphics card, refresh rate, and larger battery.

Why we like it: If you want the best of the best touchscreen laptop that money can buy, I recommend the Lenovo ThinkPad P1 Gen 8. It packs serious power with its Intel Core Ultra 7 255H processor, Nvidia RTX Pro 2000 Blackwell graphics card, and 32GB of RAM. This is less of a laptop and more of a portable workstation. It plows through heavy workloads that would bog down most premium notebooks. Performance stays consistently strong thanks to the machine's liquid-metal cooling.

What's crazy is that this is not a super heavy laptop. It is one of the bulkier options on this list, at just over four pounds, but compared to other models in its class, Lenovo's device isn't that heavy. Other notable features include a solid keyboard, haptic trackpad, 16-inch tandem OLED touchscreen, and a robust selection of ports.

Who it's for: This laptop is built for professionals who want a portable workstation. Think of engineers, designers, video editors, and content creators. If you fall under any of these groups, you will appreciate the RTX Pro GPU, color-accurate OLED screen, and strong multitasking performance.

Who should look elsewhere: The main reason why the ThinkPad P1 isn't at the top of the list is its price. It is very expensive. Its starting price is $1,700, and certain configurations can exceed $4,000. When choosing the best touchscreen laptop, there are several factors to consider. For our evaluation, we weighed the following aspects:

Processor: A CPU directly determines how fast a laptop can process and finish tasks. This includes actions like opening apps to run complex workloads. We specifically looked for advanced, multi-core processors capable of handling demanding workloads.
Battery: According to HP, touchscreen laptops "consume more power" than traditional laptops. It's possible to disable touchscreen functionality in Device Manager to conserve power. It is for this reason that we strongly suggest looking up devices with above-average battery life.
Display: Having a good display is arguably the most important factor when shopping for a touchscreen laptop. Some offer a low-cost Full HD screen, while devices best suited for artists feature an OLED panel.
Design: There's more to a laptop's design than just aesthetics. A computer's form factor directly affects how well it can withstand the rigors of travel. Many models are convertible laptops, which are great for switching between tasks. Of course, you can buy a traditional clamshell setup.

ZDNET receives a lot of laptops to review, and honestly, many of them could've made the list. To separate the best from the rest, we follow the criteria mentioned in the previous question. At first, the laptop is tested casually: surf the internet, watch videos, download apps, and work on them just to get a feel for them. From there, we run more labor-intensive apps and perform benchmark tests to see what the hardware is capable of.

Once all the testing is complete, the best of the best are sorted and placed on the list. It can be tricky picking the top-tier computers. I debated whether to make the Galaxy Book6 Ultra or the Lenovo ThinkPad P1 the best option, ultimately going with the former.

Latest information on touchscreen laptops in 2026

Samsung's Galaxy Book6 Ultra and the Asus ExpertBook Ultra give us a pretty good idea of what the future of touchscreen laptops will be. We will continue to see how more models with Intel's Panther Lake processors and we will see them perform much better than before. I also believe the market will see 2026 versions of certain convertibles, such as the HP Spectre x360. Nothing has been confirmed at this point. It's unknown if HP or any other laptop brand will roll out brand-new 2-in-1 laptops, but I see happening it soon.

HP, in particular, earned two top spots and one down below in the alternative section. The company consistently makes some of the best touchscreen laptops on the market.

HP's devices strike a good balance of power and durability. Dell is similar to HP as it also launches consistently good products with a stronger emphasis on performance. Lenovo does things a little differently. While the company makes traditional laptops, Lenovo isn't afraid to experiment and release devices with unique designs or features.

Absolutely. Touchscreen laptops are fantastic. These types of devices offer benefits that improve efficiency and workflow that a traditional laptop cannot do. Gesture navigation is a unique functionality allowing users to quickly switch between apps on the fly.

They also support styluses for taking direct notes on the screen or highlighting vital details. What's more, touchscreen laptops offer an easier learning curve for students who are more accustomed to using tablets or smartphones.

The first major sales event kicks off during Presidents' Day weekend. In 2026, the holiday is on Monday, February 16, so expect to see great deals on Saturday and Sunday leading up to it.
