The best Roborock vacuums 2026: Expert tested and reviewed

2 days ago 3

As a dog owner, I have to vacuum twice daily to keep up with the amount of pet hair on my floors. I often can't make time for that, but my floors stay clean, thanks to my favorite smart device: my robot vacuum. My Roborock is reliable, efficient, and doubles as a mop. As someone who tests robot vacuums daily, I can tell you that a robot vacuum and mop can help ease your mind and save time.

Roborock introduced me to robot vacuum and mop combinations seven years ago when few companies offered 2-in-1 robots. Since then, robot vacuum and mop combinations have greatly evolved, taking what started as a dripping microfiber pad dragged along your floors and transforming it into efficient self-washing rotating mop pads, self-washing mop rollers, and self-emptying robots. In our February update, I've included newer options I've tested to keep your floors tidy, including the Roborock Qrevo Curv 2 Flow and the Q7 M5+.

What is the best Roborock robot vacuum right now?

I've tested multiple Roborock robot vacuums and robot vacuum mops over the last few years, and they've mostly been outstanding machines. My pick for the best Roborock robot vacuum right now is the Roborock Saros 10R. It combines the strongest suction on the market with a reliable mopping system in an intelligent hands-free package. Read on for the rest of my picks to find the best Roborock vacuums.

The best Roborock robot vacuums of 2026

Why we like it: The Roborock Saros 10R is one of two flagship Roborock robot vacuum and mop combinations. It has a strong 22,000Pa suction power, a low profile to fit under furniture, intelligence to avoid objects, the ability to cross thresholds up to 4cm high, and the ability to navigate tricky layouts.

Who it's for: Anyone looking for a hands-off robot vacuum and mop would benefit from the Saros 10R, regardless of whether you're a busy family with young kids. It's also great for large and oddly shaped homes with mixed floor types. If you're a tech enthusiast who appreciates features like voice control and app-based customizations.

Review: I tested a robot vacuum with zero-tangling technology - here's my buying advice after a month

Who should look elsewhere: As a flagship model, the Roborock Saros 10R comes with a high price tag of $1,600. If you're looking for a budget-friendly model, look into a midrange or entry-level Roborock.

Roborock Saros 10R tech specs: Price: $1,600 | Suction power: 22,000Pa | Dustbin volume: 270ml | Water tank capacity: 65ml | Battery life: 180 minutes

Why we like it: If you want Roborock quality without a high-end price tag, the Roborock Q7 M5+ is for you. It offers 10,000Pa of suction, which is great for picking up pet hair and dirt off hardwood, laminate, and tile floors.

Who it's for: As someone with an excessively shedding dog, I wouldn't recommend this device for a mostly carpeted home, but it can keep up with my dog's hair in other areas. The PreciSense Precision LiDAR mapped my home efficiently and easily navigated obstacles. It's a self-emptying machine that promises up to seven weeks in a bag. For $250, hands-free, trustworthy cleaning is a great option for many people.

Also: One of the most innovative robot vacuums I've tested takes big risks - that mostly pay off

Who should look elsewhere: This is a great budget robot vacuum, but you sacrifice some features for the lower price. The Q7 M5+ has a manual mop that you have to wash and refill when needed. This is a very different experience from having a self-washing, self-drying mop pad, as some other models on this list do.

Roborock Q7 M5+ tech specs: Price: $250 | Suction power: 10,000Pa | Dustbin volume: 470mL | Battery life: 180 minutes

Why we like it: The Roborock Saros Z70 is the most innovative robot vacuum on the market. It is a self-washing, self-drying, self-emptying, self-refilling, and self-cleaning machine that has a mechanical arm to pick up light obstacles. With its 22,000Pa suction power, FlexiArm Riser technology, and dual rotating pad mopping system, you can rest assured that your flooring surfaces will be left sparkling without lifting a finger.

The robot's OmniGrip arm deploys when it identifies an object it can carry, like socks, tissues, or slippers. The robot then drops the object in a designated bin or area and continues cleaning.

Who it's for: The Roborock Saros Z70 isn't the right robot vacuum for most shoppers. Instead, this robot vacuum and mop is perfect for early adopters who enjoy testing the newest cutting-edge technologies. As the first robot vacuum with a mechanical arm to be widely available on the market, you can expect to encounter bugs with the Saros Z70 -- it's only natural.

Review: I tested the viral Roborock vacuum with a mechanical arm

Who should look elsewhere: Because this is a brand new technology in the market, the robot is expensive and still a bit experimental. I wouldn't recommend it for anyone just looking for a robot vacuum and mop to clean their floors, especially if they're not willing to work through a few of the bugs that come with the newness of this tech.

Roborock Saros Z70 tech specs: Price: $2.599 | Suction power: 22,000Pa | Dustbin volume: 180 ml | Water tank capacity: 69 ml | Battery life: 180 minutes

Why we like it: The Roborock Saros 10 is one of two new flagship robot vacuums on the market. It features strong, 22,000Pa of suction power, a retractable LiDAR sensor that makes the robot easily fit under low furniture, and a vibrating mop plate that removes stubborn stains on hard floors.

Who it's for: The Roborock Saros 10 is perfect for those who prioritize high suction power and have low-clearance areas that require cleaning, like under furniture. This robot is advanced enough to reliably and precisely navigate your home without you having to pick up every charging cable or item from your floor.

It's so great at obstacle avoidance that it's only gotten caught once in the month I've been testing it. The offending party was a stack of sticky notes left on the floor by a creative child. For comparison, I tested the Dreame X50 Ultra during the same month, which also has excellent obstacle avoidance, and it's gotten its roller brush stuck on different objects six times.

Review: I compared two of the best Roborock models on the market - and it came down to the wire

Who should look elsewhere: If you have all carpet in your home, getting a Saros 10 is likely overkill, as it has a strong automatic mopping system. At $1,600, it's also not a cheap robot vacuum, so it's not a good fit for those who are on a very tight budget.

Why we like it: The best mopping midrange Roborock is the new Qrevo Curv 2 Flow, thanks to its 20,000Pa of suction power and a multifunctional dock. This is the best mopping Roborock I tested, thanks to its new roller mop, which replaces the dual oscillating mop pads from previous models. This is a self-washing, self-drying, self-emptying, and self-refilling dock that takes all the dirty work out of vacuuming and mopping.

Who it's for: This is a great option for larger homes with plenty, if not all, hard floors. The Qrevo Curv 2 Flow can mop up effectively without manual intervention and can even stop suctioning and switch to mop-only mode when wet spills are detected. In true Roborock fashion, the mop roller lifts and shields itself when the robot goes over carpets or rugs, ensuring that all your floors are cleaned in a single run.

Review: Roborock Qrevo Curv 2 Flow

Who should look elsewhere: This is a great robot for many users, but it's likely overkill for someone who has mostly carpets and doesn't need a mop.

Roborock Qrevo Curv 2 Flow tech specs: Price: $1,000 | Suction power: 20,000Pa | Dustbin Volume: 330ml | Water tank capacity: 300ml | Battery life: 242 minutes

While any of these Roborocks can make great cleaning devices, the choice ultimately depends on your home's floors, the messes you deal with daily, how powerful you need it to suction dust and debris, and the price you're willing to spend.

While trying to determine the best Roborock robot vacuum, I kept several factors at the forefront of my testing and research that can also aid in your search.

  • Floor types: Some Roborock robot vacuums are equipped to work with certain floor types, like carpet or hardwood. Others may be able to accommodate other floor types, like stone or marble. Before you buy, consider the types of flooring in your home and which vacuum is most appropriate.
  • Mapping: For full automation, your robot vacuum mop must have a mapping feature to navigate each room. You also want to consider an obstacle avoidance feature that can avoid things like furniture, wires, and even pet waste. This feature is a must-have in my home with strewn-about toys.
  • Battery: A Roborock robot vacuum is hardly worth it if it doesn't have the battery to keep it going. Consider the battery time before choosing the best robot vacuum mop to ensure it has enough power to clean your home. If you select a robot vacuum with the technical capability to pause its job, return to the charging base to refill its battery, and then resume the job where it left off, this may not be as big of a factor as others on this list.
  • Connectivity: Many of the best robot vacuum mops offer voice control, some even with Alexa. Others may feature an app that allows you to control your robot from afar, set schedules, track progress, and control the machine's efforts. If you're hoping for voice activation rather than using an app, check and see if the machine is compatible with the home assistant of your choice.

ZDNET has several robot vacuum reviewers that have tested over 50 units over the past few years. We conduct tests in real homes with real challenges and in a controlled lab environment for comparison.

Here's what we consider when testing robot vacuums and mops at ZDNET:

  • Determine evaluation criteria: For our key evaluation criteria, we consider how robots perform by assessing their suction power, navigation, mapping, and battery life. We also assess the user experience, the robot's versatility, longevity, and whether it delivers on its specifications.
  • Unboxing: During this process, we assess the packaging and setup experience and note any accessories and unique features.
  • Testing environments: We test the robot vacuums on different floor types (like carpet and hardwood) and see how they navigate various obstacles to test performance.
  • Performance metrics: We test suction power with various debris types and assess obstacle navigation and mapping accuracy.
  • Extra features: When testing robot vacuum and mop combinations, we evaluate their effectiveness at removing stains and overall cleaning quality. We also check how unique features work, like obstacle avoidance and recognition, extendable mop pads, etc.

To top it all off, we gauge the device's longevity and long-term performance by using it over a few months. Our review timelines vary, but we typically test robot vacuums for about a month before reviewing and keep our reviews updated while the device is available.
