The clock ticks ever closer to Avengers: Doomsday, with less than ten months to go until Channing Tatum's Gambit returns following a surprise Deadpool & Wolverine appearance in 2024. Tatum is a part of a huge, star-studded line-up for the biggest MCU event of the decade so far, although there is the small matter of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Tom Holland’s fourth solo Spider-Man movie, to come first.
As the wait continues for Tatum's return, one of his most action-packed movies is set to debut on a new streaming platform. Directed by Roland Emmerich, White House Down stars Tatum as Capitol police officer John Cale, who, following being rejected for a job to protect President James Sawyer as a member of the Secret Service, finds himself accidentally in the right place at the right time to prove his credentials. Featuring a star-studded ensemble, including Jamie Foxx, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Jason Clarke, Richard Jenkins, Joey King, and James Woods, White House Down earned over $200 million at the global box office during its 2013 theatrical run, with $73 million earned from U.S. theaters.
Beginning this March, you can catch White House Down on Paramount+. Considered a small cult classic today, the movie received mixed reviews from critics upon its release in 2013. On review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, White House Down's 52% score from critics isn't a fair representation of the general discourse around the movie, with the consensus on the site reading, "White House Down benefits from the leads' chemistry, but director Roland Emmerich smothers the film with narrative clichés and choppily edited action."

Channing Tatum's Latest Movie Is Earning Rave Reviews
Released earlier this year at the Sundance Film Festival, Tatum's latest project, Josephine, is earning hugely impressive reviews. Also starring Gemma Chan and newcomer Mason Reeves, the film boasts a near-perfect 95% score on Rotten Tomatoes from almost 100 submissions thus far. Collider's Taylor Gates agreed, writing in her official review. "Josephine is a coming-of-age story in a tragic, uniquely feminine way." She added, "It’s a tough watch, and it never presents easy answers, but there’s an undercurrent of hope that keeps it from ever being overly punishing and even a few moments of much-needed levity to balance out some of the bleakness."
